I'm sure there's some nuanced take on this. Maybe they don't believe all the people being left behind are really Americans? Maybe, because there's always a glimmer of hope that somewhere, years from now, those folks will be able to get out of Afghanistan that technically it's not really considered "stranded". I'm sure there's some political spin that can make that statement true. Doesn't change that this is a foreign policy disaster of epic proportions.
