Not at all. Republican like to call out that Jen is lying..as if integrity matters anymore. They didn't mind it for the last 4 years b/c their chosen political party controlled the WH. It'll change again when a Republican is in the WH and they can " pwn the libs".
Partisan politics isn't that difficult or nuanced of a topic.

But even Manchin voted for all 3 rounds of the 5.7 trillion of so called Covid Relief bills. Could make an arguement that the 1st and 2nd rounds, while imperfect and loaded with pork and waste, were somewhat necessary. I don‘t belief that the case with the 3rd bill. Don‘t believe anyone who care about the deficit would have voted for that.CID1990 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 29, 2021 3:31 pmTruedbackjon wrote:Funny how the Dems were bipartisan and raised the Debt Ceiling for Trump several times, but the GOP does everything they can to hurt Biden, even if the country suffers. With the 1.2 trillion infrastructure, despite it apparently being loaded with a lot of pork, it also apparently has some badly needed real infrastructure.
As far as the 3.5 trillion, its almost all ‘human infrastructure‘ big government welfare state leftist wish list. Manchin said he‘s willing to go 1.5 trillion. If he truly cared about the deficit though, shouldn’t his limit be $0, as in we can‘t afford it on top of the 6 trillion already spent (5.7 Covid and 1.2 infrastructure)?

Manchin really only cares about Manchin, trying to keep his seat in a Deep Red state. He spouted some soak-the-rich BS on his redneck yacht yesterday. Manchin is almost as big an attention whore as Schumer. My BIL, who is a Donk from eastern WV, can’t stand him.

At the end of the day, the formula for Congressional longevity is pointing to all the money you spent on this or that. Republicans do it too.
Outside of legislative gridlock, I think the only solution to the runaway deficit issue (and the only way to guarantee we dont eventually tank the dollar) is to be innovative about encouraging economic growth. That is going to be painful for either Dems or Repubs to do because it will involve a combination of deregulation, antitrust, immigration reform, and restructuring some entitlements.

I think the Democrats will do what they need to do to prevent failing to pay our debts when it comes to it. But what Mitch McConnell is doing is totally irresponsible. It's a clear example of putting the interests of his political party ahead of the interests of his country.
At some point the people of this country need to stop with the "they're both bad" thing. In recent years it has become clear that the Republican Party is much worse. It needs to be dispatched as a significant factor in the functioning of this country. The country would clearly, at this point in history, be way better off if it could get rid of the Republican Party.
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth
And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth

Personally I think the EU should be responsible for their own regional defense, instead of continuing to suck on America's teat for the last 70 years.
Hopefully now that Trump isn't president anymore progressives will stop crying about how doing so would be "surrendering to Russia".
