That sucks. When did she get vaxxed?
She was in the first couple weeks of the vax being available due to pre-existing health issues.

Sucks. Hope they get through it.

Had a co-workers kid get it. According to him, one day of sniffles and the kid was back at it. But kids need the jab or something.

517 children dying from Covid is no big deal, but 213 fully vaccinated patients in the hospital is a tragedy. :o

And that much anticipated Massachusetts surge is dropping to 581 hospitalizations and 178 fully vaxxed.

I think what he's alluding to is in the drive to mandate vaccines (which I'm generally in favor of in many settings, schools for instance) there's been virtually no consideration for folks already with high enough antibody counts that would make vaccines unnecessary. I'm sure because it mucks up the story and gives anti-vaxxers some meat to chew on, but it is supported by science so... :coffee:

I have a tough time with the words "supported by science", because of the Covid Wars. Right wing science, left wing science, anti-vaxxer science, karen science.

It's also been proven that a person with antibodies is less likely to get covid if they are also vaccinated, versus a person that just has antibodies.

We don't know how long the antibodies are good for, nor the vaccines before others chirp in. This covid deal is a work in progress.

I think the difference in opinions there will be whether there is enough improvement of a vaccine with already present antibodies versus just the antibodies alone to justify the use of the vaccine. And that doesn't even take into account the moral question of proper use, in context of the world, of a scarce resource such as a vaccine for a modest benefit.

Best of luck.

I'm not up until November. Apparently everyone's really loosey-goosey on whether you meet the criteria for a booster so I'm going to consider myself in a high risk operation - it's a gray area so not much of a leap.

A friend got hers (she's younger than me with an immuno-compromised child). She had a reaction to the first two shots and nothing with the booster. :twocents:

You are getting back to the political bs again with the vaccine versus antibodies. Why is it vaccine versus antibodies, it should be vaccines are good, antibodies are good, antibodies with vaccine are even better. We have all these anti-vaxxers nazi's and vax nazi's confusing the crap out of the average person on the street.

Is it though? You tell me, I honestly haven't seen the research, but how much research is there really on antibodies and vaccines versus antibodies alone? You're making it seem like I'm debating one of the laws of thermodynamics here, I don't think I'm inserting any politics here.

I've read a couple studies on adding a vaccine to antibodies. If I have time, I might see if I can find them again.

What an idiot that guy is. So, 68% of the State was fully vaccinated when he posted that and 32% of the hospitalizations were. That is supposed to call vaccination into question? Seriously?

And notice he didn't say anything about how many of the ones in intensive care or intubated were vaccinated. Wonder why.

I've seen previous tweets by Sexton. I've listened to his radio show. He is an idiot or he is intentionally acting stupid.

It is always the case that vaccination lowers the risk. It lowers the risk among those who have not been previously infected. It also lowers the risk among those who have been previously infected. We should be about lowering the risk.

Another post that completely ignores the fact that children can be vectors. It is not just about how many children die from this particular cause. COVID-19 is obviously a big problem Not just here. It's obvious that such is the case all around the world. This stuff of trying to downplay it is just stupid. We should be doing everything we can to impede circulation. That includes impeding circulation facilitated by children whether COVID-19 is a leading cause of mortality among children or not.

This kind of stuff is why it's legitimate to say that the conservative movement is afflicted by ignorance right now.

Safe to say they weren’t driving. Safe to say they didn’t buy the firearm. Looks like a couple of “vectors” impacted those numbers as well.
