The wife and I had zero issue with Chapelle’s bit on transphobia. Don’t agree with all of what he said but it was true in many respects.

I agree. And it is the reason I haven't posted any Baldwin meme's so far as I do try to take the "high road" in most cases. But I also don't have a problem at all with those same memes or people posting them as Baldwin opened up himself to them when he placed himself on a pedestal as an authority on gun violence and what should be done about it.

Baldwin just learned that the Norns are unforgiving and maybe one should be more tactful and diplomatic when dealing with people you disagree with. It is a shame that somebody had to die for him to learn that lesson.

Baldwin broke multiple guild safety rules on set that were put in place just for these types of incidents. The incident with Brandon Lee comes to mind when they are ignored.

An article that I read had some interesting insight about staged shootouts. To paraphrase that the firearms are real and checked before hand. Blanks are not issued until just before the performance and any fired or unfired blanks are returned immediately afterward while firearms are again checked to ensure that they are empty. During the performance a safe distance is maintained between performers and no firearm is pointed directly at another. Point blank shots are strictly prohibited. Camera angles are used to make it look like people are firing at each other when they are not.
