HR 3200 hasn't made or even passed the oversight committee - wasn't it rejected on July 15th... I didn't think the house had submitted anything officially yet..

If the Democrats could get their own members to vote for it, it would already have passed and would be under consideration in the Senate. They didn't write the 1018 page bill (excuse me TTBF 500 pages single spaced) as some sort of bizarre summer project. This is what the Democrat leadership wants and hence the national discussion today.

I am sick and tired of our rights being thrown in the wood shed. IF the govt. runs your health care what would be next. THere wouldn't be any next. That would be it! They would effectively own you. It will bleed money, no pun intended, and be about as reliable as the national public roads division is.

But you don't have to have the Gov'ts health care. If you like your own, you keep it. You maintain your freedom to chose.

That's more of an opinion/thought as to why Congress is in the discussion. Not a personal opinion. Government has taken on a role to protect it's citizens, even from itself (which it fails miserably at).

Name me one thing that the govt. does for Americans that it does well? ( and screwing us doesn't count.)

I believe it's because medicare and medicaid are growing in member size so fast that ultimately so many Americans will be on some kind of a federal program that something has to be done...

but frankly:
I think all federal supported health care be it Military / low income / elderly should all be dropped...
