This sucks if you are, like me, just watching to see a good football game. Like Montana loses two extremely key offensive players right off the bat including the starting QB. What a drag.

BTW that is the kind of thing that is why Sam Houston State is the defending national champion. Sit down to watch a national championship game and South Dakota State loses its starting QB on the first offensive series of the game.
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth
And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth
Could I ever be a star?

Season ending injury 3rd game of Spring and missed 6 games to injury this fall (games 2-7). By far JMU’s best OL, even though he didn’t get all CAA because he only played 5 games regular season (the other OT #56 a 3th yr Soph was 1st team all CAA). Good chance of playing on Sundays. Don’t think Fornade has given up a sack since 2018. I would have said before the game he totally neutralizes whoever he is blocking. #35 for Montana badly beat him for a sack. Wow.
And he gets a dumb PF after the TD..

Hauck/Rosenbach not showing any confidence in Brown right now. They're keeping the running QB (Patterson) in with an 18-point deficit.

21-3 Dukes after three. The Griz were in the redzone (only JMU's 19th. RZ trip allowed), but it's now 4th. down.

Griz get a special teamer ejected for targeting. It was a late hit, but it didn't look like targeting.

TD JMU by JMU’s 3rd string RB #26. He started out as JMU’s 6th string RB but due to injuries to RB1 and RB2, and fumbleitis with RB5, he is now 3rd. 7th yr senior grad student. Was URI’s starter 2018-2019.

There go the steamers. 28-6 JMU 11:24 left.

The targeting call is so inconsistent. If you asked me between the one on #8 for JMU last week and #33 this week which was targeting and which wasn’t, and I have to pick 1, I would have said last week wasn’t and this week was. Yet the refs rules it in reverse. The rule is so inconsistently applied. I don’t get it. Like Cignetti said last week the players hate it, the coaches hate it, and even the refs hate it, but they won’t get rid of it because of liability..

The sting is wearing off slightly.

While losing 2 starters on both offense and defense makes it much harder to win, it's pretty clear JMU just had much better athletes across all three phases. The biggest thing that stood out was watching them against our kickoff and punt teams--teams that had owned literally every other team we had seen all year--just collapse running lanes and overpower our guys.

Congrats to the Dukes. There's a reason y'all have been around the top of FCS for the last few years. Good luck in Fargo

Momtana might win, but there isn’t going to be 83 points scored, and not a snow balls chance in hell JMU give up that much to Montana. :dunce:
After winning the award for retard prediction of the round of 16 with predicting SELA to beat JMU, you're going to win it for the quarterfinals with predicting Montana to put up 45 on JMU's defense. :dunce: And they wouldn't have come close even if Humphrey and their stud WR didn't get hurt. NDSU will probably win next week, but they aren't putting up close to 45 on JMU either..

-Congrats to Montana on a great season. Hauck will have y'all in Frisco if not next year, within the next couple of years.
-Sucks about losing your stud WR and Humphrey early. Without losing them I think it would have been more like 28-20, closer to my 26-20 prediction. This was how it felt for JMU fans in 2008. Landers was the best dual threat QB in the nation that year. A man among boys.
-The few JMU posters on the JMU board complaining about Montana being dirty are a bunch of douchebags. Its complete baloney.
-Turnovers were tied 2 to 2. Montana's came late, when the game was basically already over. JMU I think had a very uncharacteristic 2 lost fumbles. That probably kept JMU out of the 30s. JMU 'almost' had 2 more turnovers. The Johnson non fumble was correct- his arm was going forward, but it was close. The defensive pass interference on #21 Ford on #7 Wells was a BS call, but I'm not sure if Wells ever established possession either, so if it came to review, don't think would have been ruled a fumble. The correct call would have been non flag & incomplete pass. If JMU turns the ball over like that vs NDSU will lose.
-Attendance was listed at 14,690. Like I predicted, looked like 1/2 late arriving. If this game was at Wa-Griz would have been closer to 25k. At NDSU next week will be close to 19k. JMU not a state flagship. Very good playoff atmosphere compared to most, but clearly 3rd fiddle when it comes to playoff attendance.

FWIW the stats.
