Cleets Part 2 wrote:What are the angry people really angry about..?
What questions are they asking..?
Where are they getting their information..?

Answer:
He's not quite sure what he's angry about, but he knows he's angry. One of the chants at the town hall events was, "No national health care!" but no one has proposed such a thing.

They have been manipulated into arguing - and don't know why...

To be sure:
This isn't about health insurance. It isn't even about health care. This is about the sinking feeling in their stomach that they are losing power in this country

One guy shouted:
"Keep your government hands off my Medicare."

Obviously the larger point here is they don't care about the logic of the issue at hand - they don't even care what the issue is. it's just: Pure unadulterated fear. Who is stoking these irrational fires of hatred and fear..?

Answer:
Conservative talk show hosts all across the country (this is not rocket science)

Key Point:
Who's the beneficiary of all this outrage and mass confusion..?
Special interest groups funded by the health care industry who are hell bent in their effort to kill health care reform. They're telling us the proper response is anger - don't listen to the congressman - don't try to understand the issues... just Shout - Be angry - Obama is taking this country away from you...

The woman who now famously stood up in a Delaware town hall and demanded that her congressman recognize the illegitimacy of Barack Obama's birth certificate, said something telling in her rant. She said, "I want my country back!"

We're a stupid country - filled with stupid people...
That's a bold statement... prove me wrong :coffee:

Why do you think White-Supremist groups are growing rapidly right now?

I'm just asking for the Federal government to do exactly what the RETARDS in the Town Hall meetings are asking for... No FEDERALLY funded health care... not "some" or "carrots for service" or a little as "bribery..."
I'm talking ZERO - every man woman and child is 100% responsible for themselves

Now that's free market capitalism

Anything other than that is a compromise in American Standards
We're Americans and we won't accept anything FREE...

Blah blah blah...

I actually don't really care, because non of this really applies to me - but it is fun to watch people scream at the top of their lungs - and have no idea what they are talking about - These are the same 36% of Americans who still believe that Saddam was involved in 9/11... Good Times

:****:
The difference is between earned and unearned entitlements.
Most people that are opposed to federally funded healthcare are more opposed to who would receive it rather than the federal funding part. The rub is that our system needs a good 5% of people to be unemployed in order to keeep a lid on wages. If everybody in the country were employed and could pay for their health care we'd have these same clowns from the town hall meetings squealing and bleating about how we need more foreigners let into the country because labor is is too expensive.

If we're going to operate an economic system that is dependent on having people unemployed to keep costs down, those unemployed folk who are helping keep those wages down are entitled to health care.

How's our system going to run when there's 25% unemployment?

I don't know about etc., etc., etc., but you can't collect unemployment if you haven't worked in previous quarters. :coffee:

Ya know, it's a good thing that the so-called conservatives don't have the ability to think outside of the box, or anything else, for that matter. Healthcare for all has the poyential to be the answer to what really frightens them. If you can get a big enough scumsucker to get behind it, somebody who.d crawl over his dying mother to screw his dead sister, somebody like Dick Cheney or Newt Gingrich, it could become their Master Plan.

A modest proposal - Give free health care for life to any poor person that gets sterilized.

Health care would become very cheap in one generation and poverty would be erased

Based on the term "modest proposal" I thought the solution was going to be to use poor children for food.

 First you gotta keep them from breeding. The beauty of the system is that when we run out of poor folk all we have to do is raise the income threshold for mandatory sterilization. Of course, it will have to be raised slowly over a long period of time, but once the income threshhold creeps up to about $500K/yr. (in current dollars), our biggest problem will be solved.

Just cap the number of people that can get the freebie healthcare at whatever the number of unemployed is that keeps wages from rising. Give them a card that exempts them from employment, except, of course, in over-heated economic times when they would be required to hold some menial job until wage pressures subsided. What to do with any excess unemployed over and above the number needed to keep wages low? Very simple, form them up and have them sound-off by twos - all the ones become prison guards and all the twos become inmates, neatly solving the raw mterial problem for one of our last growth industries. Every year or so the ones and twos could switch places for cross-training.

So what? I know we waste billions of dollars on spare parts for aircraft and other shit our military doesn't use anymore, and that's just the tip of iceberg. So do we eliminate the military too?

Where did I say that "the government can handle this medical thing..? "
But you're doing a perfect job of proving my point...
and my point was... in short: We're so fucking stupid we don't even know what we're angry about...

I repeat: No National Health Care plan has been proposed... The government is simply talking about possible solutions...can you understand that: It's called "a discussion"

Thank you for proving my point :coffee:
And you are kind of proving your own point, because, from what I've seen up until a day or two ago, the administration wasn't doing much "discussing" either. Unless, of course, by discussion you mean "do what I day, and don't disagree or offer any alternatives that you don't want belittled or flat out ignored".
