Seat is staying conk in deep red Oklahoma.
The reports says Inhofe would remain in his seat through the end of the congressional session.

Good, he's way too old to be there. 87 years old is crazy, probably a decade overdue, at least.

Hence the "at least". Most people retire from their jobs and careers in their 60's, and for good reason. Of course, people in politics stay on well into their 70's and 80's for good reasons, and most of those reasons have to do with $$$ . :coffee:

Wait a second. Why would a stalwart Republican like Grassley “introduce” a Donk like Dick Gephardt? Just the neighborly thing to do?

It was a different world in '88. Conks and Donks actually seemed to respect each other.

Well, the fence is back up. Sure this puts opening the Capitol building back up to regular public access back at least another couple of months. We may have to wait until the GOP takes back Congress after November before regular people could actually get back inside the "people's" building. Incredible that we're two years since the start of COVID and you still can't get inside the building.

Truckers are scary. I’ve been to a truck stop and I’ve seen them.

I’m sure there is at least one person on Pelosi’s staff who has been to one too, so they know how scary truckers are.

Tallahassee Democrat: Why I joined the Republican Party | Opinion
Though I have been a self-proclaimed conservative Democrat for many, many years now, I’ve been accused of not being a Democrat by a local Democrat State Representative because apparently, since I don’t think like he does, I therefore can’t be a Democrat.

What a shame because at one time the Democratic Party claimed to be a “big tent,” but it is no longer, and hasn’t been for some time.

I suppose the biggest reason that I switched parties is that for some unknown reason Democrats believe that “profit” is a dirty word, yet without the boundless energy of entrepreneurs and businesses across this wonderful country, there wouldn’t be any money for Democrats to give away.
...
I know that many Americans, like me, believe that while we are flawed because we are human beings, that nevertheless, we can always make our country better, and we each have an obligation to do so.

A Capitol rioter from Mercer County killed himself Friday.

Matt Perna, who was awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty to four counts related to the Capitol breach, died of a "broken heart," his family said in his obituary.

The Mercer County Coroner's office on Tuesday confirmed that Perna committed suicide at his residence. He was 37.

Almost no vaccinated have died.

Yet you look up to those that mocked and celebrated gays dying from AIDS.
State Department of Health data proves you are either lying, uninformed or both.
Please provide data - the chances of dying while vaccinated are very small compared to the unvaccinated.

I keep waiting, but dammit. NONE of the gay people I know have died from AIDS! :ohno:

What does that have to do with the fact that your party celebrated the deaths of gays from AIDS?

And you are waiting for the gay people you know to die? Man, Texas really has changed you.

What a Bullshit Post.

Jan 6th was about overturning a legitimate election and installing a dictator (Trump). Anyone that believes otherwise is either a fool, or a traitor to America.

Trump planned multiple ways to try to overturn the election, from using the military, to getting Pence to not certify it, to having fake electors in close states.

Fortunately, the military and Pence wouldn't play along.
