Its all how you ask the question. For example, we’ve seen polling where an overwhelmingly majority prefer single payer. But then when you add in to the poll question rationing, longer wait periods, higher taxes, you won’t be able to keep your doctor, people are overwhelmingly against it.

All of which is highly debatable. But it’s obviously effective on low information voters.

This makes me sad, but I love you too, brother.

1) Regarding transportation Secretary, the FAA, FTA, highways, ports, railroads seem like items of importance.

2) Again, MSNBC and CNN represent the center right to corporate left. It’s performative left. That misunderstanding is a huge part of the problem with these type of discussions.

3) Extremism also needs to be defined better. Valid as well as “sick and demented” views and ideas can come from political extremes. This is especially true in crisis periods like the current one where rapid change and culture require rapid response. When our system functions properly, the valuable extreme ideas and views hopefully get softened through the political process by the moderates.

For example, abolishing the DOE would be considered by some on the left as extreme. However, given what I’ve seen, it may be a good idea. Or, just a few years back, gay marriage and legalized weed were considered extreme. Extremist takes might also might also be shared. I’ve heard liberals call for a no fly zone over Ukraine without recognizing the escalation implications. Similar to the “bombing them Muslims” back to the Stone Age sentiment in the 90’s and 00’s.

It might feel like the sky is falling (checks outside just to make sure it’s actually not) but I don’t think that feeling will last much longer. This is especially true for those who recognize that while not all change is good and sometimes deeply disturbing, it’s still also an inevitability of life and the universe.



This sums up why I’m quickly becoming far less ideological than I used to be. I prefer ideas over party and ideology.

Biden Sells Alaska Back To Russia So We Can Start Drilling For Oil There Again

ANCHORAGE, AK—The deliberate and premeditated invasion of Ukraine by brutal dictator Vladimir Putin has forced the US to reassess the importance of energy independence. With this new resolve, the Biden Administration has taken its first step toward increasing oil production for Americans by selling Alaska back to Russia so we can start drilling for oil there again.

“Folks, nobody wants to ruin America’s beautiful Alaskan wilderness with oil trucks and drilling rigs, come on!” said President Biden in response to questions he thought were coming from a house plant in the West Wing. “But I’ve never had a problem getting oil from Russia, so there you go, go get him.”

Jen Psaki praised Biden’s brilliance in finding a solution that would prevent an energy crisis while also preventing new drilling on American land. She pointed out succinctly to journalists, “You see, it’s not American land anymore; it’s Russian land.”

Politicians on both sides of the political aisle criticized Biden for selling Alaska without giving them enough time to sneak friends and family onto the boards of newly-relevant Russian oil companies. They also voiced concern that the negotiator handling both the Alaska sale as well as managing drilling permits was Hunter Biden and not their own children.
