Why F/A 18s??? Poland has no experience with that jet…no support equipment…no trained maintainers…no trained pilots…

Well, they'd specifically requested similar technology. We've already phased out F/A-18 A/Bs, so that might fit the bill. We're on E/Fs at least for contexts when we're not using F-35s (the botched Joint Strike Fighter that was supposed to save $$ because they're almost all the same in all the services because of a commonality of parts, though the F-35Cs are STOV/L for or V/STOL the Marines.) You're right, of course, that F/A 18's are different from the F-16s, so that COULD be an issue.

How did Biden kill it? Seems Poland called the bluff and the US backed down. Maybe they are one and the same, but when you hear "Biden killed it" AFTER Poland called out the US, it seems rather odd to kill something that seemed dead already.

Turkey is still a NATO country and I haven’t heard any grief about them providing UAVs to Ukraine…but providing MIGs is a no go???

Those UAVs are doing some real damage to the Russians

Turkey is in a unique position here -

Erdogan has been playing footsie with Putin for years now, but there have been policy analysts in the mix who suspected that had more to do with tweaking more largesse out of NATO than actually being friends with Putin.

Now look at what Turkey has been doing the last three weeks…. acting like a full-on NATO member!
