I recall the Germans laughing at a certain Orange Man when he encouraged them to make moves towards energy independence. Whoops.
And for NATO countries to spend more on their own defense. Whoops again.
Now Russia says if Europe and the US want oil, it must be paid for in Rubles. Whodathunk that was going to happen?

Yep, taking a lot longer than I thought. Those neo-Nazis in the Donbas held out longer than their boy Hitler did. Kudos to the Ukrainians for that I guess.

We are now entering the 5th week of the invasion. The Russian blitzkrieg has turned into a ‘sitzkrieg’.

Ghost of Kyiv
Ukrainians on that island that said fuck you and died, but didn't.
Russian cosmonauts taking extra space suits with them so they could wear the Ukrainian colors home.
Bombing of a maternity ward.

But probably the biggest issue is the either "your all in, or a Putin apologist" line of reasoning. This coming from the media that have been caught lying way too many times over the last couple years to be believed now.

I'm simply taking a what and see attitude.

I DO NOT want to go to war and keep seeing this unrestrained media pushing it. The same media that had over half of Democrats believing if you caught COVID, 50% went to the hospital.
No shit. So we're supposed to believe the same gubmint/IC that told us Sadaam had WMD and the same media that told us 2 weeks to slow the curve, vaccines get us back to normal, and just one jab for the past 2 year?

Anyone not suspicious of what the media and gubint are telling us about the Ukraine invasion should have their heads checked. The good news with SM is that a lot of their bullshit narratives are falling apart in real time so that makes it even harder for the dolts to go along with all the warmongering.
So what's the real story? Educate us. :coffee:

You would think that Putin and his generals would have given the mud more consideration during the planning phase.

It was used by the Germans to describe the period in 1939 between when the UK and France declared war on Germany, and when actual hostilities broke out on the western front.

I did, although I probably had heard it or seen it somewhere before years ago (maybe in reference to what Cid posted with the Phoney War).

The German term for it literally was the “Sitzkrieg”

Russian soldiers ran over their commander, apparently blaming him for heavy losses in Ukraine, Western official says
Larisa Brown, defense editor of The Times of London, tweeted, citing the unnamed official, that the commander "has been killed by one of his own units" and that the colonel "was ran over by his own troops deliberately."

Probably fake news. The Russian invasion isn't even happening or if it is, it's going swimmingly.

Dunno, this wasn't as bad as Biden saying that if Russia used chemical weapons that we would "respond in kind", basically insinuating that we would use chemical weapons then as well. Not really a shining moment.

SD… let me put this into terms that maybe you and SG can understand

Ukraine is a diverse country. Not as diverse as the US, but they have made great strides since 1943 when their government was happily rounding up Jews and shooting them in mass graves.

A lot like Germany, in fact - where they STILL have neo-Nazis. Just like Ukraine, just like Russia, hell, Mongolia actually has an SS right now! They do community cleanup and charity. And they sport the twin lightning.

We also have a few Nazis right here in the good ole USA.

The neo-Nazis in Ukraine are no more influential there than they are here. They are literally a fringe group. They were instrumental in the formation of the Azov Battalion but they no
longer hold sway there after the AB was folded into the regular Ukr military.

We are literally talking about a country that fairly elected a JEW as its President, after a revolution against Russian puppets which was fomented and fought by the AZOV BATTALION. In other words, Ukrainians who see the Azov Battalion as freedom fighters elected a Jew to their higher office.

I do not know why you and SG and the Qanoners Re so hung up on this. It REALLY is a bad look. Ukraine is not/not a belligerent country. Russia is. You are allowing yourself to be dangerously distracted bu some very tenuous conspiracy stuff.

You are being told this by someone who spent the last few years calling out the RUSSIA RUSSIA RUSSIA scam as a conspiracy theory, and who has been very recently an IC watch officer with a SCI clearance.

I am not bullshitting you when I say you and SG and anyone else on this board playing the “ukrainians are nazis” game are shilling for Czar Vlad. Open your eyes. Russia is literally leveling Ukraine. There is zero justification for it. It is a war of aggression and it may well lead to a world conflagration. Let’s not get hi g up on a Ukrainian militia unit. It sounds as ridiculous as killing millions over Gavrilo Princips’ aim.
