I do lean left on some issues and right on others. I've voted for Republicans and Democrats. I actually consider myself more like a small-l libertarian. I don't go so far as those who have " Tax is Theft" flags and stickers - taxes are the cost of our society but I do think we should be spending our money better than we do (which, if we were more efficient we'd be taxed less - in theory). I'm all for civil rights and protections but think much of the left on social issues are just ridiculous. They cater to the minority at the expense of the majority of us who don't care about a person's sexual desires or gender. We're much more than who we love and if we have do or don't have penises.

I don't "regret" voting for him mostly because my vote didn't matter. My vote was a throw away anyway. If we had something like ranked-choice voting or a better 3rd party candidate, I certainly wouldn't not have voted for him. He's a serious disappointment like the POTUS before him and the POTUS before that and the POTUS before that and the... I wouldn't vote for him if he were running again. Hell, I held my nose and voted for him in 2020.

I DO like to give people the benefit of the doubt which I know irks many people on this board who think anyone that isn't on their side of the political spectrum is either a Socialist or a Nazi.

I don't get bent out of shape over the use of a cheat sheet or teleprompter, and honestly don't understand the outrage. You really expect someone to remember a speech? All of our POTUS' before the teleprompters had their speeches in front of them. The cheat sheet for reporters is odd, i'll admit, but it's not important. The message they are trying to convey is what's important.

The outrage, in my opinion, is just something used to detract from any real issue and just attack the messenger.

I understand its use in speeches, but to use it during a press conference where you are supposed to be answering to the press is certainly a little bit odd and I'm not sure how much, if ever, this has been done before. It's not like he has talking points in front of him, he has literally, verbatim, the script of what the person from the press will ask him, and then what's to be his response. Scripting the press conference, including the specific questions from the press, does seem to enter some really gray space of how a press conference, with a free media, is supposed to work.

I am and have. The only reason I ten to vote R locally is that the candidates align more with my beliefs. When elections are more national, I tend to vote more third party.
