My opinion is that this stinks to high high Heaven and the dots connected from Jan 6th to highly influential people inside and outside of government are significant. I suppose arguments will be made that Thomas and his wife never discussed Jan 6th, who she was speaking to and her opinions that Biden and Co needed to be forcefully removed from power. Some will buy that. An impeachment would publicly bring what was actually going on further into the light.

That’s an important thing in my book.
It is a measure supported only on the extremist left so I’m not surprised you also support it.

That wasn’t a decision on case law. It was a motion from Trump to avoid turning over Jan 6 documents.

I would agree that it adds to the body of circumstantial evidence that suggests Thomas has a conflict of interest and should recuse himself from any Jan 6 cases. Impeachment is still a very radical measure - only the most extreme Dems currently support it.

The bolded parts also apply to Hunter. We either need a cycle of never-ending impeachments or we need to stop electing crooks.

Agreed. And Hunter should be investigated for what’s alleged. But it’s also like saying we need to either stop prosecuting criminals or stop producing violent or thieving humans.

Agree.

Kalm, I'm with CID on whether Thomas has done anything impeachable yet. He does need to recuse himself from January 6 cases.

I wonder why the Republicans won't impeach Hunter Biden and the Big Guy? They're usually up for any kind of confrontation with the libtards and this would be right up the alley of some cunt like Hawley or Cawthorn. :?

Have you seen the Big Guy’s numbers?

Why risk turning off indies with a partisan inquisition when Biden is doing just fine delivering all of Congress to the GOP all by himself?

If and when any Jan 6 cases really do get to the Court (and the motion for Trump's papers don't really rise to the level of a case yet) then he probably should recuse himself. But I'm not sure what if anything will get to the SCOTUS, especially any time soon. And impeachment because of things his wife did or said? Considering impeachment requires 2/3 of the Senate, impeaching someone because of a spouse isn't really a winning political move.

But it's politics driving the "faith in the court" in this situation. It already seems like you've put politics above all in that case, or at a minimum conflated the two.

I caught that you qualified your comment with “significant.” We probably won’t agree on what constitutes significant. I’ve learned from experience that cases can be decided by decisions on motion.
