Pay attention. Nobody is arguing about putting troops into Ukraine. Thats just you trying to deflect from the indefensible position you've adopted and can't find a graceful way out of. :coffee:

Russia's economy will collapse before they can out-attrit Ukraine. And putting out info to keep Putin off-balance seems to be working well. One thing you have forgotten to account for is morale among the Russian troops - they've been lied to about the mission, they're freezing their hungry asses in their bogged-down equipment wondering where are the nazis and wtf is going on. Wouldn't surprise me a bit to hear that there have been fraggings - troops that would do what they have to civilians wouldn't have the slightest of qualms about it. The psy-ops folks are probably putting together tales revolution among the conscripts as we speak.
What indefensible position is that? That the US IC and their MSM mouthpieces have no credibility?

If we really wanted to collapse Russia's economy, we'd open the flood gates on oil production by any means necessary. This would would give the EU an alternative source for their oil needs. We'd also get tough on SA by pulling out support in their war on Yemen until they started pumping more. Get global oil supply up, drop the price of oil/barrel and put the real squeeze on Putin's war machine funding.
Haven't you seen Biden urging Big Oil to drill on their 9,000 leases? Of course you have. I wonder why they aren't hopping to it? And I wonder why the Republicans have gone quiet on the subject? Remember Sarah Palin and Drill Baby, Drill?

I don't think time is on UK's side. The longer this lasts the more likely this turns into a war of attrition, and they won't out attrition RU. UK needs outside forces to come to their aid, hence the propaganda/hysteria about civilians getting killed to try and drum up foreign intervention in the form of boots on the ground or a no fly zone.
They could IF:
-they continue to have the will
-they continue to have outside weapons pouring in.

If the Russians continued to suffer huge losses (men and material) at some point their economy would be teetering on the verge of collapse, and there woukd be a critical mass of opposition within Russia to end this. But maybe that could take years..
Maybe but I doubt it - your IFs aren't IFs at all, they're guaranteed. The Vietnamese fought off a much better-trained and better-funded Army than Ukraine is dealing with. :coffee:

Russia could lose Crimea.

The IC has *no* credibility?

The IC gets things wrong frequently but it also gets a majority of things right.

A good example is that the IC actually predicted the Russian invasion within 2 weeks. And guess who was pooh poo-ing the IC over that prediction when it was made? The same Russian apologists who are now pulling out all the stops to say the earth is flat and Russia is not daily committing war crimes in Ukraine.

The IC has a hell of a lot more credibility on this than you do, SG.

To be fair, almost all the Ukrainians that I saw interviewed on TV stated that they thought Putin was bluffing and nothing would come of it. The difference between them and the SD/SG Russian apologist wing being that the Ukrainians know they got it wrong now.

Yeah UKR was as taken by surprise as anyone.

But the IC… particularly NGA and NSA got it 100% right. They are now getting it right on Russian atrocities.

My buddy’s UKR wife still didn’t believe it would happen as he was prepping for their shelter, then exit from Kharkiv. A couple days later, explosions were literally next to their apartment building.

Yeah they’re probably right on Russia here. But they’ve been wrong on an awful lot lately.
-Trump/Russia collusion
-Biden’s latop was Russian disinfo
-ANA wouldn’t fold like a wet blanket.
-Droning some innocent Afghani and his family.
-Kiev would fall in 72 hrs.
+whatever else I’m forgetting from the recent past.

Seems like they’ve also become totally politicized..

Are you not including military intel as IC community? 3 of those look like military intel failures, 2 of them going by the statements of Milley, the Sec Def, the Pentagon spokesman, Biden, etc. Where are they getting the info to make their statements from if not military intel?

I know the Biden laptop was ‘Russian Misinformation’ wasn’t the current IC, but the letter was signed by 51 high up ‘former’ intel folks.

So you’re going to say the Trump Russia collusion was the only IC failure of those 5?

Kiev would fall in 72 hours was the obvious intel failure.

BTW, my most common thought as I've watched this unfold is that it really is a shame there there is such a thing as nuclear weapons because I think that if there weren't the Western World would not be tolerating this and would have already made short work of Russia's conventional military.
