That last one wasn't conspiracy...just ignorant people who don't understand vaccines and were creating a bullshit argument. I don't recall a single scientist, advocating for vaccines, say it'll prevent infections. That isn't want vaccines do. They reduce the risk of infection.

I get that we were also just barely into getting vaccines into people when all that was said, and now we have the value of experience to tell us otherwise, but it was still said and it was proven to be inaccurate. It's like how people kept comparing this vaccination drive to the drive for the polio vaccine, but again, that was an apples to oranges comparison in terms of what we were vaccinating against.

This thing is and has been a super contagious (incredibly contagious) flu. And I don't mean that in anyway to diminish what it is - the flu is terrible for many people, and having a version that is so easily spread is a pandemic.

I agree. But there were plenty of people lining up during the pandemic to hear from the politician who matched their leanings - it's why a guy like Cuomo could pull in so much attention and adulation, despite his actual track record. The right had their same issues.
