That last one wasn't conspiracy...just ignorant people who don't understand vaccines and were creating a bullshit argument. I don't recall a single scientist, advocating for vaccines, say it'll prevent infections. That isn't want vaccines do. They reduce the risk of infection.

The problem there was that politicians (maybe not scientists, but the politicians are louder) were saying that the vaccines would eliminate transmission - we were told that if you got the vaccine you wouldn't get COVID (I'm pretty sure even Biden himself said that). And sure, we shouldn't take scientific advice from politicians, but the whole public health sector is pretty much muddied up with politicians now anyway. I get that we were also just barely into getting vaccines into people when all that was said, and now we have the value of experience to tell us otherwise, but it was still said and it was proven to be inaccurate. It's like how people kept comparing this vaccination drive to the drive for the polio vaccine, but again, that was an apples to oranges comparison in terms of what we were vaccinating against.Ibanez wrote: ↑Thu May 19, 2022 6:54 amThat last one wasn't conspiracy...just ignorant people who don't understand vaccines and were creating a bullshit argument. This thing is and has been a super contagious (incredibly contagious) flu. And I don't mean that in anyway to diminish what it is - the flu is terrible for many people, and having a version that is so easily spread is a pandemic.

It’s amazing how many people who theoretically hate politicians apparently hanging on their every word when it came to pandemic advice.

People don't necessarily hate politicians. They just hate the politicians of the party they are opposed to. It's duopoly in action. They're perfectly fine with the crappy politicians from their own party, generally speaking (there are always some exceptions).Winterborn wrote: ↑Mon May 23, 2022 6:34 amAs equally amazing as how people and "scientists" ignored past historical knowledge and made everything political.

I agree. But there were plenty of people lining up during the pandemic to hear from the politician who matched their leanings - it's why a guy like Cuomo could pull in so much attention and adulation, despite his actual track record. The right had their same issues.Winterborn wrote: ↑Mon May 23, 2022 8:58 amTrue.GannonFan wrote: ↑Mon May 23, 2022 8:56 am

I like to put her and AOC in a room and see if the collective IQ total goes negative.

Republican Rep. Louie Gohmert, of Texas, said Friday that the Peter Navarro indictment points to "a two-tiered justice system."
"If you're a Republican, you can't even lie to Congress or lie to an FBI agent or they're coming after you," Gohmert said during a Newsmax appearance.
I can’t believe people voted for this guy. He actually complained that Republicans can’t commit felonies. The horror!

The real point flew right over Louie Gohmert's head as he was making his statement. Poor little snowflake was complaining about the injustice of Republican politicians not being able to commit felonies while Democratic politicians can, not realizing that the real problem is politicians committing felonies and getting away with it.AZGrizFan wrote: ↑Tue Jun 14, 2022 4:50 pmYeah.
