I would guess that more of them became the Northern Alliance then Talban.

That's correct, my mistake. Those mujahedeens then went to form the Taliban. That's the relationship I was thinking of.

Well, you end up doing a lot of weird things when you make ESG the driving force in your economic outlook (other than the idea that there's no negative impact to easy money policy) and you don't make sure you actually have the means and the technology in line to support and manage the markets denuded of their prior source of exchange. It's like announcing and moon shot and then forgetting to make sure we have the means to make a rocket.
