Poll: Americans losing confidence in Obama

Post by Appaholic »

WASHINGTON – A new poll says that Americans, concerned over the future of health care reform and anxious about the growing federal budget deficit, are losing faith in President Barack Obama.

The Washington Post-ABC News survey found that less that half of Americans — 49 percent — say they believe the president will make the right decisions for the country. That's down from 60 percent at the 100-day mark of the Obama presidency.

This poll result was predictable, as AZ, Ivy, the Colonel and others have prognosticated for the past several months.

But there is a surprising and disappointing element for me. What the hell did the voters who chose Obama think they were getting?!?

Surveys indicate that about a third of his voters are dedicated socialists and Dems who expected Obama's radical and partisan thoughts and actions, another third got caught up in the excitement of Obama's candidacy without thinking about policies or consequences, and the final third expected Obama to govern as a moderate.

To the dedicated third: fvck you to he!!

To the naive third: We forgive you, but that's how Hitler got elected! Pay attention next time and don't let it happen again!

To the "moderate" third: What were you thinking? The signs were all there! Now get to work, pay attention, and don't let it happen again!

At least Obama has good intentions. Can't say the same for Pelosi, Reid or the Republican congressional leaders.

I didn't vote for the man, but there is no way he could possibly live up to the expectations the public and the media threw on him not to mention the promises he made on the trail. In spite of sorta serving in Congress, he didn't seem to understand that the House and Senate can be like handcuffs.

True dat!

Obama intentionally kept his campaign promises vague so that those that heard them could interpret them in a way that was consistent with what they wanted. That's good for building support and votes but it does pave the way for a potential let-down when those people don't get what they expected.

Has it been an improvement (so far) over the last administration?

Obviously, but it's not Sept. 10 yet, you know, when Bush became the "war president" and the "decider." You know, when he really showed his stuff.

In substance, no!

In style, perhaps yes.

Barry's little bow to the King of Saudi Arabia was at least as bad as the shrubster giving a back rub to Angela Merkel, and BO shat all over himself in the Cambridge Cop Caper (the caper being a failure of both substance and style).

However, I give the fraudster style points for inviting the cop to the crib for a beer. Shrub would probably have been afraid to do so (although he did invite Robert Redford - so maybe it's a draw on style, too).

"Sarah Palin absolutely blew AWAY the audience tonight. If there was any doubt as to whether she was savvy enough, tough enough or smart enough to carry the mantle of Vice President, she put those fears to rest tonight. She took on Barack Obama DIRECTLY on every issue and exposed... She did it with warmth and humor, and came across as the every-person....it's becoming mroe and more clear that she was a genius pick for McCain."
