I was listening to the San Jose radio link last night. Both of their announcers were having fun. Kind of like listening to Harry Carey going off on one of his tangents during the Cubs games back in the day.

They did have a classic line after Chachere overthrew a receiver over the middle. They actually said, "Boy, he certainly hangs his balls out there."

I was trying to follow via Yahoo! Sports, but it was hard. I had to keep refreshing, and when I dipped into GameTracker, it would disappear. They did have one actual scalp-candidate game on FS1 last night. Of course, the zebras found a way to get out of the scalp. SMH....

Rough start by the Bison Defense today. Bulldogs marched down the field with little resistance. Made some adjustments and the Bison didn't punt until the second half. Special teams had a big day.

I have two options right now. Over the air antenna which picks up all the big stations like NBC, Fox, ABC, etc. and then I also have a subscription to ESPN+ ($10/month), which allows me to watch Big Sky, MVFC and a fair amount of others.

When the Griz play Sac State, I'll purchase Sling TV for a month ($35) so I can watch them on ESPN 2. All told, I should only spend about $75 to watch pretty much all I care to see in regards to football this year. ESPN+ is the best deal overall.
Everything is better with SeattleGriz

I'll hold out hope for McNeese getting better. Keith Zembower wrote in his blog (Zem's Gems) that they played well on defense at first but wore out. They have a depth problem for now in the secondary. They are from a sea level school with a bunch of players from coastal plains and they were playing at 4,900 feet elevation. Their offense could not stay on the field. By the third quarter the defensive players were gassed.

He said that, on offense, they have a problem in that neither of their top two quarterbacks have mastered the offense. The starter reportedly missed a lot of reads and the second guy, who may end up being the starter in the long run, only got two snaps and was not allowed to attempt a pass.

Also, Montana State made a couple of great TD plays where coverage by McNeese DBs was about as good as it could get but the ball was thrown perfectly and the receiver made a great play on the ball. Zembower wrote, "I thought the defensive backs played well. Sometimes you have to give credit to the other side and Tommy Mellott and his receivers had three or four NFL level throw and catches."

Hoping to see improvement as time goes on. Supposedly they do have potential to develop some depth in the secondary.
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth
And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth
Could I ever be a star?
