Big Sky Predictions 10-15

Post by JALMOND »

Full slate of games on tap for this Saturday. Everyone in the conference is playing. Six conference games and all twelve playing. Interesting matchups all day from top to bottom in the conference. We should get a clear picture as to who the real teams are and who the fakes are. I am flying in to this weekend on a hot streak, achieving perfection for the last two weeks and hoping to earn a third week of perfection as well. I am at 42-8 overall. With that, here are my predictions for this weekend in the Big Sky.

CP at ISU---The Mustangs have one win so far this season, a squeaker against San Diego, while the Bengals have yet to break through on the win column. The Bengals are at home this weekend so that should be enough for their first win...ISU 28, CP 26.

UI at UM---With the success of the Vandals this year, this game with the Grizzlies means a lot. Both teams had last week off so both had two weeks to prepare for this. Vandals want to show they belong, while the Grizzlies want to keep rolling...UM 35, UI 21.

MSU at UNC---The Bobcats have been rolling too, and even with injuries, they are looking tough. But conference road wins are hard to get and playing a feisty Bears team eager to play spoiler at their place could be rough. Still, the Bobcats should win...MSU 21, UNC 14.

WSU at PSU---The Wildcats got a big road win last week and have a big game coming next week, so this tilt in between, against a Vikings team that beat them last year at their place, may be a trap game. Still, the Wildcats should prevail...WSU 27, PSU 23.

SAC at EWU---Simply, the Hornets have an offense that puts up a lot of points, and the Eagles have a defense that gives up a lot of points. The Eagles offense can score a lot of points as well, but the Hornets defense does not give up points...SAC 51, EWU 35.

NAU at UCD---The Lumberjacks have a record that is pretty indicative of the way they've played so far. The Aggies have a record that doesn't truly show the way they've played so far. The Aggies should start to get right with this game at home...UCD 35, NAU 17.

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

Saturday

Sac State 45-35 EWU — Eastern needs this one bad, but their defense is just too discombobulated to handle the Hornets

Weber 34-20 Portland St. — Three-week gauntlet coming up for the Wildcats

NAU 14-31 DavisThe Aggies finally get a breather

Cal Poly 28-27 Idaho St. — Good chance the loser goes 0-8

Idaho 17-31 MontanaIs Montana good or just pretty good? Is Idaho pretty good or just above average?

Montana St. 34-14 NoCo — The Bobcats probably have the easiest remaining schedule of the Big Sky title contenders

Wasn't a long limb to go on. Griz have had a very weak schedule and have been the most over rated team in all of FCS, couple that with Idaho easily being the most improved team this year and it wasn't a hard pick to make. I'm just disappointed this lessens the value of our marque matchup with the Griz in Hornet stadium this weekend.
