Ain't nobody from NYC coming to the NC anyways.danefan wrote:But the major problem I see to this is the accessibiltiy.
Flights from NYC to Chattanooga on Jan 5, 2010 - 1 stop $287 round trip
From NYC to Missoula on Jan 5 2010 - 2 stops $510 round trip
That will be the nail in the coffin for the NCAA I think.

Find out how much to fly to SLC. There are tons of direct flights from there to Missoula.danefan wrote:Yes, but I can't search for flights in 2011. It was just an example.Grizalltheway wrote:
Wouldn't it be 2011?
And I used NYC as the jumping off spot, because you can generally fly anywhere in the world from NYC with 1 stop. Let me get some other numbers from other "FCS" towns to Missoula in January.
EDIT - Charlotte (App St., etc.) to Missoula - 2 or 3! stops - $600
Philadelphia (Nova/Del, etc.) -2 stops $543
Savannah GA - 3! stops - $530
Keep in mind that these numbers are 4 months in advance. What will they be 3 weeks in advance?

Re: Montana to bid for 2010 FCS Championship
I'd love to see it at TXST too, after the renovations. But that's 5 - 6 years at least. It's gonna be awesome and I'm gonna hit the lottery so I can afford one of the suites, or maybe just the VIP seating down front on the east side.
Now, to reply to all this vagina, pussy shit. You people don't understand the concept of not wanting to sit outside for a game when it's below fucking 0. I grew up in the northeast and I could always tolerate the cold... THEN. NOW??? not so much. I've lived down here 27 years. We have no winter. Your blood thins out and you cannot tolerate what you could before. It's biology. I barely made it through the playoffs in 2005 when it was in the high 60's Friday (semi-final) and dropped to the low 40's by game-time. I was miserable (but stuck it out) I wore layers of clothing, had gloves, scarves, hats (2), with wintersilks and insulated underwear and was wrapped in 2 blankets. It just ain't the same as when I lived in it. No time for the body to adjust...at all.
Throw darts or your best comebacks. It won't change my mind about going to a game in the north in January.
(come to a game here in late November, from up there, when it's 80 and you'd sweat your ass off. It's the reverse)

You said everything I wanted to say but put some nice personal touches in there that I would not have been able to provide.
We know about the differences in weather as well cuz we sure as hell ain't used to 70 and humid when we head out in December when we get the chance to go to Chattanooga but it's a problem I don't mind putting up with.

Been through that airport dozens of times (as I bet you have) and that's the nice thing about it is that you are fairly isolated from the above stated peops. I've never even had a problem getting a beer there.Wedgebuster wrote:It would be worth an extra 300 bucks to avoid that armpit. Screw that inbred cesspool of kiddie fuckers.AZGrizFan wrote:

It ain't the beer its the guys with big ears, close set eyes, buck teeth, and an extra pecker growing out the side of their face. Not to mention all the pregnant 13 year olds in long dresses and buns in their hair.Ursus A. I know what you're getting at there but you don't see em' in the airport. I never have that much time to get to the Delta wing and never see the inbreds inside the airport so I'm saying you circumvent that "local flavor" if you are just connecting.Wedgebuster wrote:It ain't the beer its the guys with big ears, close set eyes, buck teeth, and an extra pecker growing out the side of their face. Fares to Cleveland, Akron, Pittsburgh, and Youngstown are likely $200 round trip or less to anywhere in this nation. Within a 1 hour drive of Stambaugh Stadium you have the following Low Cost Carriers:
AirTran
Southwest
Allegiant
JetBlue
Frontier
DirectAir
and just about every other carrier in existence today!

Just a quick check from Bozeman (the 2nd busiest airport in Montana behind Billings)-
Cleveland $566
Akron $416
Pittsburgh $538
Youngstown $495

IMO, if the National Championship game get's played at Washington/Grizzly Stadium, no matter who's in it, it'll be sold out!

I have lived in The Philippines, Thailand, Kenya and Egypt. I still wear shorts year round. You will not find anyone on this board who has seen me at a game or otherwise in long pants, unless they were at my daughters wedding. Its a state of mind. That being said my brother who has lived between Palm Desert and Dubai for the last few years is a a "vaginal opening" when it comes to cold weather. I am beginning to think he was adopted.CatMom wrote:I'd love to see it at TXST too, after the renovations. But that's 5 - 6 years at least.
