If its 23°F, most people are thinking..... "Hey Its on ESPN 2? ill just watch it at home." I watched that griz video before the game, I saw those "gone to the game" signs in business windows. The only people who are gonna be at that game are missoulians.

And as long as it's full, which it would be, that's all the NCAA cares about. :coffee:

Probably 1/2 true but for purely selfish reasons I think the Griz fans would take that chance. I don't mind that only those that are willing to make a sacrifice would show up anyway. I've never been able to make it to a NC game that didn't run me between 1-1.5K and even when we've lost it's been money well spent.

Ummmmmmmmm. Shut up. My vote is for Texas State's stadium. All they have to do is add 5,000 temp seating in the endzones. [2,500 in each]... them texas folks would fill it just fine, I reckon'

TXST in particular is working on the fan support and I like all the excitement from the posters that I know on here and have met in person but they don't traditionally support their own team in those kinds of numbers and I doubt that it would happen if they weren't in it.

If we're going to Texas, I say have it in Houston at the new MLS stadium (also will be Texas Southern's home field). Houston is a cool city and easier to get to then having to fly into San Antonio and drive to San Marcus.

You DO realize how many FBS schools are within a couple hundred miles of San Marcos, right?

No way it's at Montana...

Their bid is probably just so they can say "Well.... at least we tried."

If UNI was playing in WaGriz I would want to be there regardless of how cold it was going to be.

IMO, the NCAA wants the stadium full but they would also want the teams playing to be well represented. Chatty makes that more likely because it is within reasonable driving distance of a large number of FCS schools. In that regard, Texas State has the same issue that Montana has in that it is less accessible by car than Chatty.

Sorry 88. The NCAA doesn't give a rip if a team is well represented. They care about $$$. Butts in seats=money.

I do agree that I would do everything in my power to make the trip if GSU wound up in the game, but sadly, I am certain that I am the minority for GSU folks. I bet we would send less than 250 fans if it was in MT.

I really like this Idea. First off it would help generate great exposure for the Monarchs campus and new facilities, their new stadium looks awsome and it is big enough to hold plenty of fans. Also unlike Chatty, it has a turf field so that means no more mud bowls :thumb:

The NCAA cares about image in addition to $$$ and if there are only 1000 or fewer fans from each school it reflects poorly on the NCAA. They'll chase the dollars but they'll be looking in the mirror to make sure they look good while they're doing it.

I mentioned ODU on AGS a while back and the ODU fans weren't so sure attendance would be great by the locals. They seem to think that most ODU fans are really fans of ODU and not necessarily FCS football yet.

I love the idea. 18 miles from Virginia Beach which has plenty of hotels available in January. Within driving range of most FCS teams and a relatively easy flight into Norfolk, Newport News, and Richmond.

Flights are crazy cheap into Norfolk in January too. ($129 nonstop roundtrip from NY; $249 from Houston; $236 from Chicago; $159 from Orlando.....)

Add that to the fact that Foreman Field is recently renovated, has great luxury boxes and state-of-the-art technology (sound/video, etc.) and will look great in HD.

Chatty has had field turf since the summer after the turf disaster. They are as up to date ans anyone in the country.

Pols does speak the truth! I've never seen him wear any thing but shorts, no matter how cold it is! Manly? Of course it is, but its always reminded me of a very large potato, with toothpicks stuck in it for legs! Its a sight I never get tired of seein'!!  ;)

And BTW, dipshit, I wear Patagonia, Capilene 4 Bottoms under my shorts when it gets a bit too cold...NOT TIGHTS!!

You will not find anyone on this board who has seen me at a game or otherwise in long pants, unless they were at my daughters wedding. Its a state of mind. That being said my brother who has lived between Palm Desert and Dubai for the last few years is a a "vaginal opening" ;) when it comes to cold weather. I am beginning to think he was adopted. :thumb: :thumb:

I don't wear shorts year round. I am 5'3".... weigh in at 116 fully clothed and the cold goes right through me.

Too cold which favors northern teams and too expensive to travel to Montana.

And too hot and humid favors southern teams. One day we will be so bitchy about temp extremes we will all be required to have a damn dome.

THe only valid argument I want to hear about the weather is if fans will show up or not.

I was gonna follow Slycat with pretty much that exact comment btk but I figured what's the juckin' use? It's no picnic for us to leave what we're acclimated to either to go play so that is a wash as far as what you have to play in. It would be no advantage to either team if they come from similar climates anyway. I like that you don't choose from column A for one thing and column B for another btk. I almost always understand your reasoning and I don't know how well that bodes for you in the grand scheme there buddy. :thumb:

Although YSU has NOT put a bid in, and I am unsure if they will, the YSU forums are having a decent discussion on the possibility of YSU Hosting it...

As much as I'd love to see it in Missoula, let's be realistic, it won't happen. There will be too many NCAA cry baby bed pissers that will say it's too cold. Nut up.
