The GOP in Tennessee is just a crap show at this moment. I get it that you can't really tolerate members of the legislature pulling out a bullhorn and protesting on the assembly's floor. But at the same time, how do you manage to expel just the black guys and not the white woman when they did the same thing? How they couldn't see that outcome as problematic, at a minimum, is just another example of how politics just sucks right now in America. The GOP should be mortified at the outcome in Tennessee but I suspect they really don't give a damn either. Wonderful for the rest of us.

Agree the optics are horrible but Johnson didn't play much of a roll in the disruption so I thought that it was fair that she did not have the same actions as her two colleges.

A great point of discussion is whether or not they should have censured the three instead of expulsion. I think they should have based on this being their first offense.

Heard the TN Senate leader (or maybe it was House) say that during the hearings on the Transurrection Johnson defended hersef basically throwing the 2 black lawmakers under the bus- she claimed her actions weren’t as bad because she wasn’t on the bullhorn, nor pound the podium like they did, etc. Then after the 2 black guys were expelled and she fell 1 vote short of being she cried ‘racism’ that she wasn’t expelled also. I’m not expecting Tenn to suddenly turn blue but this is not a good look for them. This would be the time to moderate a little and not damage the brand further in any situation that receives national media attention.

They are in a shrinking minority on key issues like gun regulations (even sane ones that a majority of Americans agree with), abortion, racism.

America won’t become more conservative on those issues…in our lifetimes.

How is it a crapshow? They have a supermajority in both state houses, hold every major statewide office, both senators, and went for Trump by 23 points, with 92 of 95 counties voting for him.

They did vote to expel her 65-30, which was apparently 1 vote short.

Were all 3 of them doing the exact same thing during the protest excuse me insurrection? Usually in these types of things you have some whose actions are worse than others.

The R’s in Alaska were morons to enact 3rd party. It was done to save Murkowski, as she wouldn’t have won the conk primary without ranked choice. The only thing ranked choice in Alaska accomplished was flipping Alaska’s 1 House seat from conk to donk, and saving the senate seat of a career politician RINO (the R pary in Alaska did come around and endorse Tsibaka in the general, but too late, damage done).Without ranked choice Tshibaka beats Murkowski in a conk primary and easily wins Murkowski’s seat. Still would have won it in the general without cocaine Mitch’s interference.
