Isn't this guy basically a butler and former Navy elinsted? How much money could he possibly have? Lawyers don't come cheap, even more so for cases like this with wide media coverage. One certain knock, among many, against Trump is that he cuts loose his own people when it comes time to lawyering up.

He’d have all the money in the world if there wasn’t serious evidence against him and he wasn’t a threat to flip. I'm also not sure why they need to do this. trump throws his attorneys and his MAGAt yahoos under the bus whenever it benefits him or he has a hissy fit. That alone is reason enough not to want to be a part of one of his many legal teams.
He might have an ambulance chaser because of Project 65 but I think it's much more likely that trump isn't giving him any real financial support. Which is a shitty thing to do considering he's in this situation because he was working for trump. Whatever entity was providing his paychecks should be funding his defense. And trump can't blame the guy if he flips if he doesn't help him with his defense.

Agree on both accounts. There's no reason why lawyers should be stigmatized for defending anyone - it's a bedrock of our judicial system that everyone is entitled to a defense. Just as John Adams stood up for what was right when he defended the British soldiers in the Boston Massacre, even a guy like Trump, or those who work for him, deserve to be represented by quality lawyers. Any effort to prevent that is distasteful at best and just un-American at its worst.UNI88 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 07, 2023 10:13 amI agree that attorneys who try to intimidate other attorneys to keep them from representing trump and his MAGAt yahoos should face discipline.BDKJMU wrote: ↑Fri Jul 07, 2023 10:05 am

I agree that the media has gone out of their way to vilify trump but he hasn't helped himself. He's said and done plenty of things that deserve vilification. He's not a victim.
He's also lied about the media, his opponents and other things. Why are you so critical of the media's lies and so forgiving of trump's? You'd have a lot more credibility with me if you were consistent.

Are you really telling me you don't see the obviousness of Trump's exaggerations? He talks like a businessman. Hell, he talks like a CEO. If a company is doing poorly and the CEO is asked how they're doing, the CEO doesn't say, "we're doing terrible", he says, "best ever". You seem to forget Trump's routine gets him a lot of free air play.UNI88 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 07, 2023 4:29 pmThe Reid Hoffman who helped fund Jean Carroll's lawsuit? Don't forget I'm not so much pro Trump as I am anti establishment. I've said many times he's the perfect asshole to deal with our elected assholes.
I like what DeSantis does, just not sure he's really genuine and not purchased at this point. If he keeps up with how he governed Florida and isn't a closet GOPe, I'd be ecstatic because I can actually listen to DeSantis talk. Trump? Not at all.

You agree that Mueller spent $32 million and had the full resources of the DOJ and couldn't find any connection to the Trump campaign colluding with Russia? How about the transcripts to the House Intelligence Committee when they were finally released? Narrative obliterated.kalm wrote: ↑Sat Jul 08, 2023 4:38 amI agree with ‘88. Don't forget the FBI never got it's hands on the hacked DNC server. The House Intelligence Committee transcripts further underscored the thinness of the Russia collusion allegations. “I never saw any direct empirical evidence that the Trump campaign or someone in it was plotting/conspiring with the Russians to meddle with the election,” former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper testified. Other Obama administration officials, including National Security Advisor Susan Rice, made the same grudging admission in response to questions from committee members. Their testimony raised new questions about whether there were ever adequate reasons to launch a criminal investigation into the opposition party’s presidential campaign.
You guys can't even remember what happened. UNI thinks it was a court case and you think impeachment was where the decision was made.An even more startling revelation emerged from the hearing transcripts. CrowdStrike, the private cyber‐security company that validated Democratic National Committee (DNC) accusations that Russia had hacked Democratic Party emails, had acknowledged to Congress that it had no concrete evidence that Russian hackers stole emails from the DNC server. It was no trivial admission since the firm had served as a critical source in the long Trump‐Russia probe.

Re: Trump's Secret Documents. The World awaits.
Throwing this in here because it involves that political hack, Jack Smith, who is also investigating Trump over the election.
I actually read Patrick Byrne's blog on this exact subject and posted about it on this board. He went through the whole process of how they tried to talk Trump into specific measures that would allow him to contest the election.
In the end, one came away realizing Trump put too much belief in Guliani, who was not a part of the group trying to convince Trump, but was actually more worried about getting shit faced and simply fucking around and taking advantage of his fame.
It really made me look at Guliani in a new light and not a good one.

I’m not trying to re-litigate shit. Pointing out that the fact that no charges were brought is not proof that nothing happened.SeattleGriz wrote:Here you go. Or were they just unable to prove it in a court of law?
trump is a con artist, there is no doubt in my mind that he (like Hillary) would do whatever he thought he could get away with, legal or illegal, to win an election.

Klam… I covered this in nauseating detail, numerous times, in this very thread. That you want to re-litigate it is fitting in the spirit of Jacobins (like you) who prefer to ignore or re-write history.
If CID wants tell me I’m full of shit and why, I’ll listen.
The irony of you quoting CID after he made you and SD look like Lloyd Christmas and Harry Dunne is rich though.

there was an investigation that didn’t lead to charges thus no court case. The lack of charges is not proof that nothing happened.SeattleGriz wrote:You agree that Mueller spent $32 million and had the full resources of the DOJ and couldn't find any connection to the Trump campaign colluding with Russia? How about the transcripts to the House Intelligence Committee when they were finally released? Narrative obliterated.
My personal opinion is that there was something there (.i.e some communication) but not enough to warrant charges. My opinion is not an indictment of trump alone, Hillary and Biden would have done the same thing if they thought it would help them win. They’re all slimy rats and I laugh at the fools who think trump isn’t part of it.

He probably has an ambulance chaser because of Project 65.
