In the summer of 1962 I was 8 years old and among the first of the general public to ascend the Space Needle at the World's Fair in Seattle, a few short weeks before the Jetsons came on the air; living in the sky and flying cars are where I thought my life would be lived and the science fiction I was reading was set in the distant future of 30 years ago
