You can't prove me wrong and your response is to put words into my mouth and ask me to justify them. I've already listed a number of areas where trump dropped the ball some of them impacted the economy.

More importantly, if trump is the genius that the MAGAt yahoo cult believes he is then he should have been able to adjust his plan to account for the pandemic. Why didn't he? Because he isn't a genius.
I've got nothing.

Progressive 'Bernie Brew' owner ordered to pay record $750,000 for defaming conservative publisher
Among other things, the 13-member jury found Bangstad had smeared Walker by calling him a "crook" and a "misogynist."

Bangstad, who operates a federal super PAC, also was found to have defamed Walker by claiming in a Facebook post that he had engaged in elder abuse and committed other crimes against family members so that he could inherit the newspaper business.
Guys sounds like a progressive donald trump, calling his opponents names and making hateful accusations.

Didn't see a gun thread or mental health thread so just put it here. What a colossal failure of the system, or just the lack of a system. The shooter in the Maine mass shooting couldn't have been any more of a flashing beacon of risk, yet time and time again he kept slipping through the system and kept accumulating weapons. To say this was preventable is an understatement and makes the loss of innocent lives even that much more tragic. There have to be answers as to how to stop this particular kind of mass shooting from happening, if only politicians and the public could take the time to constructively and cooperatively get together to solve it.

I'm not a gun person so I have no idea - how many rounds are in a typical, run of the mill handgun? 9? 10? 12? Seems more than 5. I'd be okay with something like this, just debating what the actual number would be.

However, there's still the big question of what to do with a guy like that who, for the better part of a year, was a clear and obvious danger to himself and others through his deteriorating mental health condition. He had plenty of guns, so even if each could only fire 5 rounds he still would've killed a lot of people. What do we do about that?

The more he has to reload the better the chances for the targets - in this case more than one person was killed while rushing the shooter. Nobody needs more than five rounds for any kind of hunting, you're limited to three shells bird hunting, and the same should apply to people, especially school kids. They deserve a sporting chance and if you have to reload after five rounds that will give them a chance to make a break for it. Once they're running around the small ones are much harder to hit.

IMO, five is more than enough for any situation you might encounter while hunting. One for the kill, three for signaling if you need a rescue, and one extra. And note that this doesn't preclude owning AR-style weapons it just means you have to undergo the same kind of background check you would for owning a machine gun, which makes sense since they're both designed for the same purpose.

Justice served. Santos remains to fulfill his duty to his constituents.

A defiant Santos spoke with reporters after the House vote, saying that this not a victory for him, but rather a victory for due process. He said a vote to expel him would have been silencing my voters.

After he loses his re-election and is no longer a member of Congress we'll extradite him to Brasil. Two of my bandmates are from Brazil; they don't like his chances if he's sent back. :thumb:

Didn't they drop the charges in Brazil for this nutcase? Do we extradite people for theft of that quantity?

As for him in Congress, I'm all in favor of him staying - if the lazy voters and media where he lives couldn't see through his act and elected him, that's on them. If they want to kick him out then that's also up to them. At some point voters need to be accountable for their decisions. I'm glad this nut doesn't represent me, but then again, I pay attention to who runs in my district. The beauty of the House elections is that people can screw it up again just two years later.

And millions of law abiding Americans rightfully would not comply to such an anti 2A, unconstitutional edict, that would be overturned by SCOTUS, if it even made it that far.

The BATF should be abolished. The US existed for close to 200 years before the BATF was established in 1972. And we had semi autos capable of handling more than 5 rounds for nearly a century before the BATF existed, with less mass shootings. Shootings INCREASED AFTER the BATF was created, and after they started background checks in the 80s. That tells you how worthless the BATF is.

Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms should be a convenience store, not a govt agency.

Edit: And your proposal would be 100% impractical even of it weren’t unconstitutional.
