I wasn't talking about you, I was talking about the article stating the ridiculous 87% loss of troops.

Show me the proof Russia has lost 87%. There isn't any. Russia is around a 1:5 ratio on KIA vs Ukraine.

Ukraine will keep fighting, but you have to realize they have such heavy losses, the new troops get very little training before being sent to battle. They are asked to learn something that takes one year to become proficient in two months. That's not a good formula.
Why did you quote my post if you weren't talking to me?

U.S. intelligence assesses Ukraine war has cost Russia 315,000 casualties -source
A declassified U.S. intelligence report assessed that the Ukraine war has cost Russia 315,000 dead and injured troops, or nearly 90% of the personnel it had when the conflict began, a source familiar with the intelligence said on Tuesday.

The report also assessed that Moscow's losses in personnel and armored vehicles to Ukraine's military have set back Russia’s military modernization by 18 years, the source said.
Here is where you dismiss the intelligence report because of russia collusion, Hunter's laptop, etc. while continuing to expect people to believe the diarrhea that your Swiss cheese expert has spewed.

You are correct that the formula for Ukraine isn't good (it's bad for russia too) but Ukraine is fighting for its existence. Is there any price too high if you're in that kind of fight?
Exactly. The sort of guy who makes the history you say you read. A former Swiss Intel Officer trained by the West and worked for both NATO and the UN and was asked to lead the rehabilitation of the Ukrainian army back in 2018.

Hey, look at this report! It's totally accurate.

https://www.defense.gov/News/News-Stori ... n-ukraine/
Russian President Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukraine has been "a catastrophic strategic disaster," Colin H. Kahl, the undersecretary of defense for policy, told the Defense Writers' Group yesterday.
Yes, so bad they actually had lost 96% of their troops at that point. How is that possible since the was written in 2022? They are so bad, we just rolled the counter over when they got to 100%

Putin fucked up by the numbers and there isn't a day a doesn't wish he'd waited until the '24 election knowing that if Chubby D won we'd be pulled out of NATO for the asking. Sooooo close.....getting greedy cost him a place among the greats, now he'll just be remembered as Vladimir the bloody-handed little wannabe that set Russia back 20 years... :ohno:

I have no idea, but this is from BILD. Putin just gave his yearly Q&A and pretty much stated this.

Oh. so what they’ve moved the goal posts to now. Ok.
Dang. And they held Kupyansk and were at the gates of Kharkiv previously as part of the initial "feint." Now they hope to retake all that by 2026? Brilliant

Also, kinda funny that the Avdiivka offensive SDHornet was so excited about is in the "by the end of 2024" category."

Only people that served are entitled to an opinion? Wow. I've never heard that from a veteran before - even Marines know better than that bullshit.
I'm afraid to ask where you put your life on the line with George Santos so fresh in our memory. (I put my life on the line at Ft. Eustis, VA, in early '76 when unfortunate timing had me walking past the post theater at the exact time that a double-feature of Shaft and Mandingo was letting out.)

Because I've talked to people that served and actually killed people. They were changed forever. You see action? I was very fortunate to not see any. It's why I was medical. Knew I couldn't kill someone else.

Reread. I said I was fortunate enough not to have had to serve in direct combat. I did see the effects on those that did and it wasn't pretty. This was on the relatively safe side. I can only imagine how bad Ukraine is. You know, the war you've been wrong about everything.

Of course not, but it's a good question to ask those that are flippant in their regard to what is happening. Kind of like you supporting the unsubstantiated claim Russia is a bunch of doofuses incapable of tying their shoes. It's stupid shit like that, that keeps this war going. You can say it because you don't give a shit and don't have any skin in the game. Just running your mouth and spreading untruths.

Flippant? Thats you projecting. What keeps the war going is that Russia won't leave the country they invaded. Our interests from every angle are better served by supporting Ukraine now. Even a full-of-shit-as-a-Xmas-turkey COMSYMP like you can see that.

Spend those fuckers into oblivion like we did to the Soviet Union. Let China spend their money proping up their comrades efforts. :thumb:

  • What does this have to do with the price of tea in china?
  • Is there an industrialized nation on the planet where it doesn't happen?
  • Do you think it isn't happening in russia too?
  • Are we surprised that they're running out of poor young people to send to protect the very existence of their nation from the fascist russian invaders?
  • Is this a reason to stop supporting Ukraine?

No clue if true, but if it is, it's a big deal.

Also no idea if true, but Putin has stated he wants a treaty, meaning House and Senate have to vote. He's criticized the "rules based order" many times in how the rules change.

Have to add, that if true, Putin shouldn't be in any hurry to come to an agreement. He's holding all the cards right now.

You have to stop looking at conspiracy crap like this that poses as news. Just because they get one thing right doesn't erase the 1000 other things they get wrong.

As for a treaty, there won't be a treaty between the US and Russia - it would have to be between Russia and Ukraine. And that would mean that Putin would have to recognize Ukraine's right to exist. I'm not holding my breath.

It's not conspiracy crap. I'm at the other end of the spectrum on this topic compared to you. You think Putin wants to take over the World and I see him as only wanting to control his sphere of influence and protect his country. I'm not a fan of geopolitics and how the US, Russia and China protect their interests.

As to a treaty, I agree. That would be incredibly embarrassing for the US and the neocons don't send their kids to war, so they don't care.

You put too much faith in Ukraine Russia negotiations. Was it Ukraine that scuttled the peace agreement? No. Russia knows who is in charge.

Just wait. The US is going to back away from Ukraine and try to blame someone else. The Dems have horrific numbers on this, so the trajectory has to be changed.

My exuberance is mostly to get on record the war is horrific. US is the ones calling the shots. Russia wants negotiations with US, not Ukraine.
