I like the Canton idea. I also like the idea of someplace warm. Good excuse to get out of Iowa in December.

As one who knows nothing about the post season prior to 2008....
Why is the national title in Chattanooga in the first place? What is special about the current location?
Where was it before Chatty?
Why does it seem most want it to stay?

2. A stadium that is an appropriate size. Central location. The town really plays a good host for it. Plenty of otherwise empty hotel rooms. On major N/S interstate. Close to large airport.
3. Huntington WV. (Marshall) Marshall moved up so it really doesn't make sense to have it there again. Before that it was in Statesboro, Ga. (GSU) I'd be happy to have it there again, but I doubt anyone else does. Before that it has been in Pocatello Idaho and Toccoma Washington, Charleston SC (my pick) Wichata Falls Tx, Sacramento Ca, and Orlando Fl.

Note - most on this board mean The East Coast - when referencing a central location. (ie: east of the Mississippi River)bobbythekidd wrote:1. They bid for the game when it was up for bid and their bid won it.weberwildcat wrote:As one who knows nothing about the post season prior to 2008....

No Catmomma. I mean central to the population and FCS as a whole. Col Hogan posted a graphic that illistrates what I mean.CatMom wrote:Note - most on this board mean The East Coast - when referencing a central location. (ie: east of the Mississippi River)
Re: 2011 National Championship Game Location
The only "central" location with a southerly climate on the list is San Marcos. Midway between Austin and San Antonio (both fun cities) and their bevy of hotels. It got my vote.

Re: 2011 National Championship Game Location
I took what seems like the most feasable options and looked up the average high/low in Jan.
Canton - 33/17
Missoula - 32/17
Nooa- 40/30
San Marcos - 61/39
Boone - 39/20
Richmond - 45/28
From this, for me it is Nooga or San Marcos. My personal preference kept me from Boone or Richmond. Those that are going to pull the it's only 8 degree for Missoula, those 8 degrees are HUGE that time of year. It is also a different kind of cold.

bobby... I'm well aware of the graphics/locales of the FCS institutions and because of it the FCS powers that be cowtow to those teams/conferences. It ain't gonna kill the east coast conferences to actually have to travel once in a while for the NC. All of you need to come see that there is more to Texas than the Plowboys, Whorns and a various assortment of assholes.
(and I still realize it's a pipe dream)

Charleston would be perfect, but alas, the NCAA has their BS SC boycott.

Found this in an article from the Great Falls Tribune
http://www.greatfallstribune.com/articl ... oo-quicklyOther cities reportedly competing for the NCAA event include Orlando, Fla., San Antonio, Texas, Nashville, Tenn., plus the current host, Chattanooga, Tenn
Sites such as Denver, Salt Lake City, Chicago, New York, Philadelphia, Little Rock, Ark., and Mobile, Ala., also have indicated some interest.

Re: 2011 National Championship Game Location
I kinda like the idea of a rotating championship game, keep it on par with what fbs does...i like the idea of playing at a west coast, midwest, and east coast venue....could play at the brand new home depot center in los angeles, univ of houston/houston mls stadium, and then ucf's new stadium in orlando...three great cities to travel to, stadiums are pretty good capacities for the crowds that will be there, and with a rotation nobody can complain that its biased.
