What If?

Post by UNI88 »

What if trump wins in 2024 and then wants to run again in 2028? What does the Republican Party do?

Donald Trump dangles idea of third term as president at NRA convention

MAQA - putting the Q into qrazy qanon qult qonspiracy theories since 2015.

It will probably be difficult for MAQA yahoos to overcome the Qult programming but they should give being rational & reasonable a try.

Sure, if I brought it up out of nowhere but trump brought it up first ...
“You know, FDR 16 years — almost 16 years — he was four terms. I don’t know, are we going to be considered three-term? Or two-term?” Trump asked.

Several attendees were heard chanting back, “Three.”
...
From time to time on the campaign trail, Trump has floated the idea of serving out a third term.
By doing so, he made it a relevant point for discussion.

Just like people who call the Constitution a living, breathing document, particularly the 2nd Amendment are just "playing the crowd because they like 'scaring' the dimwits that can’t see through it" when they propose gun control measues. :coffee:

Just admit it, MAQA yahoos, like woke progressives only respect the parts of the Constitution that they agree with at the time.

2 points:
  1. Those kinds of trolls play well with the MAQA yahoos but won't play well with independents and moderate Republicans.
  2. These kinds of trolls get more real and scarier when looked at on the whole. A 3rd term, dictator for a day, Project 2025 Iwhich has far too much substance to just be a troll), abandoning NATO, etc.
What if he does attempt to run for a third term? What will the Republican Party do? What will you do? Will you twist yourselves into logical pretzels in an attempt to justify the clear disregard for our Constitution?

He's mentally ill and if he's still alive could very well want to run for a 3rd term and he has millions of sycophantic worshipers who would scream lawfare or someother such nonsense if the Republican Party or the courts denied him the opportunity.

Just like it's your opinion that transgender people are mentally ill.

The difference is that psychiatrists and the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders do not consider gender dysphoria a mental illness but they do consider narcissistic personality disorder a mental illness.

Well, there’s only 1 candidate who besides being a pathological liar is constantly injecting himself into mostly made up stories with ‘I’ and ‘me’. That is a sign if narcisism right there.

They're both pathological liars and I think biden says things like that because he's currently further down the dementia road then trump. trump has made impressive strides in stumbling and rambling incoherently in the past 3+ years though, maybe he can beat biden at dementia.

If Trump wins, he CAN'T run again. The Congress placed Presidential term limits in the Constitution after FDR had four terms (one incomplete). There's a Democratic member of the Congress (from PA, I think) who's been trying to get that repealed every session, regardless of who the sitting President is or what party he's in, since the Reagan Administration, and it's failed every time. If Trump wins in 2024, he's NOT going to be on the ballot in 2028. Simple as that....

He certainly does seem to believe the rules don't apply to him.

Having said that I don't think he runs again in 4 years win or lose this election. He's going to be in worse shape than Biden is today when he gets to Biden's age. The dude has mush for brain (so does Biden so fuck off with any dumbass comeback on it.

It's going to be so incredibly clear he can't do it in 4 years from a physical/mental stand point. Also, he likely won't actually be able to run anyway.

MAQA yahoos before trump breaks the rules - he can't do that, it's against the rules.

GOP just wouldn't have a viable candidate then. There's no controversy over the 22nd amendment and certainly no way it's being changed anytime soon. Moot point.
