Of course there’s going to be consideration for a different candidate now. That’s been a significant and hypocritical fuckup if the Democratic Party. When your pitching democracy is on the line, you might want to have an actual primary and give your voters and independents a choice with an 82 year old incumbent. Instead, they’ve rubber stamped Biden’s nomination.

Still time to change course but that also carries a risk of showing weakness and ma know leadership at this late stage.

Of course this is all performative with zero to do regarding policy. They’re losing to a convicted felon who’s openly hostile to many core ideals of our culture.
I would have hoped they'd learned that lesson having been through the same thing with Bernie - the good news is that 99.9% of voters already have ther minds made up, the bad news is that the 0.1% that haven't could be enough.

What were seeing now is the fulfilling of the prophecy by the Oracle of Little Egypt, archived right here on this very site, that when Citizen's United made it official that our system is for sale to the highest bidder it was GAME OVER for the United States as we know them.

The Grateful Dead saw this shit coming over 50 years ago -

Please don't dominate the rap, Jack, if you got nothing new to say
if you please don't back up the track, this train has got to run today

I spent a little time on the mountain, spent a little time on the hill
heard some say you better run away, others say you better stand still

Now I don't know but I've been told its hard to run with the weight of gold
on the other hand I've heard it said its just as hard with the weight of lead

Who can deny, who can deny, its not just a change in style
one step done and another begun, I wonder how many miles

I spent a little time on the mountain, spent a little time on the hill
Thing went down we don't understand but I think in time we will

Now I don't know but I was told that in the heat of the sun a man died of cold
keep on coming or stand and wait, with the sun so dark and the hour so late

you can't overlook a lack, Jack, of any other highway to ride
got no signs or dividing lines, and very few rules to guide

I spent a little time on the mountain, spent a little time on the hill
I saw things getting out of hand, I guess they always will

Now I don't know but I've been told that if the horse won't pull you got to carry the load
I don't know whose back's that strong, maybe find out before too long

One way or another, one way or another
one way or another, this darkness got to give

One way or another, one way or another,
one way or another, this darkness got to give

Let's be honest, that was just flat out brutal for Biden. If there was ever any doubt that he's no longer capable of performing the job than that debate settled it. He's enfeebled, he's mentally not there anymore. There's been an undercurrent through the past 2 years or so that he's not even running the government anymore, that a collection of aides and party higher ups are actually setting the course, and last night pretty much proved that. It's sad, we don't really have a functioning President at this point, let alone what the next 4 years look like. Biden should've been 25th'd off into a retirement home a couple of years ago (and let's also be honest, he needs a higher level retirement home with more care - he's just not hanging out in any regular over 55 community), and the fact that he hasn't is a testament as to how incapable most Democratic power brokers think Kamala is to step into the role. There's no sugarcoating this, this is an absolute disaster for the Democratic Party at this point in the election cycle.

And, considering that Trump, though far more lucid and aware, is a despicable human being, America is pretty much assured of having a crappy choice of candidates for the election in the fall. Again, the only glimmer of hope to take from this is that come 2028, both of these guys will no longer be running for President and we can potentially get a full functioning person into the job.

Another GF RD summary of CHs posts

As for Trump being a despicable human being… well the reason I came on here was primarily to say that the Biden family is worse! Now that the media has turned on Joey Rotten and the Crimedogs, more people will at least be given the opportunity to see this shameful Biden family in the light of day.

Which is why you keep trying to win the Covid debate over and over, again. Or climate change…or religion… And now you want to talk Trump and golf with me?

You are a fine example of Trump principles. Atta boy!
If you think you can wash away the fact you were incredibly uninformed on COVID and wished ill will on the unvaccinated, you are wrong. Just stick to your strong point of adding 1-8 strokes for each of the 18 holes. That seems like a challenge you might be able to handle. Grade school math.

Your absolute lack of critical thinking skills and knowledge is vast. Maybe you should stop moralizing and telling people what to do and think.

I've finished the whisky that Col Hogan - a man of his word and a no-doubt good guy under his gruff exterior I'm sure - sent after our bet.

Fifth from your local distillery? (Or mine in the unlikely event that you're correct)
