When does Biden drop out of the race?
And trump:
- slobbered up putin’s little impaler
- added the mushroom to Stormy’s fajita
- sexually assaulted/raped 26+ women
I’ve said it before, sexual history is not a good category for trump.

Make tbat about 21 hours. Literally right up until someone sent that tweet, his campaign was saying ‘he’s running.’ Where is Biden?

Re: When does Biden drop out of the race?
Well, the entry was supposed to be "anywhere between now and 2 weeks before the convention", and that's what we have with Biden dropping out yesterday. Only one person voted for that so congratulations to that person, whoever they may be. I admit, I didn't see him hanging on that long, I thought he'd be out right around the July 4th weekend, but he was doggedly determined to stay in the race. I thought when he came out with that letter on July 8th he might actually stay in the race until the end, but the George Clooney letter was the tip of the iceberg and once the power brokers in the party made it clear he had to leave Biden didn't really have much a choice in the matter.
Winner winner chicken dinner for that lone vote, and onwards for the rest of the campaign.

I went with medical emergency since it was the only medical choice - so if he really had covid I want my chicken dinnerGannonFan wrote: ↑Mon Jul 22, 2024 9:19 am Well, the entry was supposed to be "anywhere between now and 2 weeks before the convention", and that's what we have with Biden dropping out yesterday. Re: When does Biden drop out of the race?
Nah, I get the final ruling and COVID had absolutely nothing to do with the decision, merely a coincidence. Once they lost Clooney (and so many other spigots of fundraising) it was only a matter of time. Good try though!houndawg wrote: ↑Mon Jul 22, 2024 9:35 amI went with medical emergency since it was the only medical choice - so if he really had covid I want my chicken dinnerGannonFan wrote: ↑Mon Jul 22, 2024 9:19 am Well, the entry was supposed to be "anywhere between now and 2 weeks before the convention", and that's what we have with Biden dropping out yesterday. Hold on a second Aileen - it may not have been an emergency, opinions differ, but it was definitely medical. I demand the ruling be postponed until after the election!

Re: When does Biden drop out of the race?
Nonsense, it had absolutely nothing to do with him deciding not to run. He didn't include it anywhere in his resignation letter and the Clooney letter starting the ball rolling was pre-COVID diagnosis. If he says something different whenever he addresses the nation later this week I could reconsider. As of now, though, objection is overruled.

Re: When does Biden drop out of the race?
Trump campaign internal polls June had Trump nationwide up 2 on Biden, and 5 on Harris (no I’m not finding a link, I read it somewhere in the last 2 days).
If the donks thought Harris was a better option they woukd have couped Biden a long time ago.

Re: When does Biden drop out of the race?
More evidence this was an orchestrated coup.
https://nypost.com/2024/07/22/us-news/t ... -resigned/Top Dems threatened to forcibly remove Biden from office unless he dropped out, set him up to fail at Trump debate: Sources
Operatives at the very highest levels of the Democratic Party threatened Joe Biden with forcibly removing him from office unless he stepped down, sources told The Post.
The well-orchestrated “palace coup” to stop the faltering president seeking re-election has been in place for weeks, but stubborn Biden fought against it every step of the way, a source close to the Biden family told The Post Monday.
The insider also made clear the anger, paranoia and frustration Biden displayed as the party elite circled around him and piled on the pressure.
Part of the “elaborate” strategy to remove Biden from the race – as he announced in a shock letter posted on X Sunday – was allowing him to debate Republican candidate Donald Trump last month on live TV in Atlanta….

Re: When does Biden drop out of the race?
It's not a coup if he finishes his term in office. He was never guaranteed another 4 years, he still had to win that. Telling him he couldn't run for that additional 4 years is not a coup. Heck, it's really what should've happened soon after the inauguration in 2021. There have been many Presidents throughout our history who wanted to run and win another 4 years and their party told them no. Biden joins the ranks of Tyler, Fillmore, Pierce, and both Johnsons (Andrew and Lyndon) who wanted the nomination but did not get it. Looking at that list, denying all of those men another 4 years seems to be a wise decision by the political parties.BDKJMU wrote: ↑Tue Jul 23, 2024 5:38 am More evidence this was an orchestrated coup.

How many of them were told no after they won the most pledged delegates?GannonFan wrote: ↑Tue Jul 23, 2024 6:40 amIt's not a coup if he finishes his term in office. Re: When does Biden drop out of the race?
Well, since there was no such thing as pledged delegates the answer is moot. Technically, Fillmore started his convention with the most votes, and LBJ won the New Hampshire primary before bowing out.BDKJMU wrote: ↑Tue Jul 23, 2024 6:46 amHow many of them were told no after they won the most pledged delegates?GannonFan wrote: ↑Tue Jul 23, 2024 6:40 am

Ok, so in 19? post WW II elections with primary contests followed by conventions, there’s never been a candidate forced out after he garnered the most pledged delegates, sealing the nomination.

Re: When does Biden drop out of the race?
Not sure what your reference of 19 is.
We haven't really had primaries around the country (even in '68 at least half the country didn't have primaries and didn't assign delegates via that method) until the 70's. Heck, in '68 Humphrey didn't even appear on most ballots in the states that did have primaries as he was just focused on collecting delegates from the non-primary states. And we did have that controversy in 2016 where the DNC seemed to be heavily tilted towards Clinton, in terms of how the primary was run, who got debate questions in advance and who didn't, etc, in order to stem support for Sanders.

I thought I saw we went to the current primary system post WWII. So I stand corrected- more like post Vietnam. So change that 19 to 14 and my point remains.GannonFan wrote: ↑Tue Jul 23, 2024 7:35 amNot sure what your reference of 19 is.
