Up 42-14 before giving up the two later scores. Still 27 points is a ton given Monmouth had lost their main weapons. Their transfer QB from Maine looked solid tho.

At least our front 7 didn’t get pushed around and gave up less than 50 rushing which is a massive improvement.

Won’t know much until the Griz game and I still see us as a 6-6 team. The conference slate is a doozy, playing the top 5 teams on paper. An upset loss is as likely as an upset win.

IMO, the Sac St game turned on the kickoff return fumble and serious injury to Michael Johnson. I hope he's ok.

Didn't see much of the game but the bizumbs were game but couldn't pull it off. The officiating looked biased toward the FBS school as usual with missed cheap shots by Shilo Sanders and a missed targeting call on the final drive ...

Don’t like the rule either. Borderline let it go. Clear cut (which that appears to be) call it (in which case it’s automatically reviewed). Was it called/reviewed?

Forgot about the game. Otherwise would have watched. Did watch the extended 16 min highlights Not surprised at all to see NDSU play them close, and wouldn’t have been surprised at all to see NDSU win, which wouldn’t to have been much of an upset. Colorado is a sub par P4 program (1-11 in 2022, and 4-8 last year). Look like one of those have great offense, defense not necessary teams.

Couple of the Bison DBacks were 1st time starters. Best defender is out. Still did ok for next man up. Could have won, but came up short.

1. The targeting call against the Sac State defender was questionable at best. He led with his hands.

2. There were THREE legit targeting situations where San Jose State SHOULD have been called, all helmet-to-helmet shots: one on each quarterback and the kick return all y'all mentioned. The incompetent zebras only bothered to call ONE of those.

3. They improperly overturned a Sac fumble recovery on the basis of an elbow allegedly being down with no view of the ball behind the defender's body. It could have already been moving.

4. This wasn't the only game that had bad officiating. ND State got screwed royally when the zebras failed to look at targeting on His Neonness' defense on what SHOULD have been the Bizon's game-winning drive.

Of course, officiating was far from the only reason Sac lost this game. We've discussed the vast similarities to the entirety of last season from a coaching perspective on SacBuzz; that's REALLY why we lost the game, since we were in a position to win even AFTER the bogus officiating until coaching blind spots of long standing reared its ugly head again.

We HAVE to get that fixed RIGHT NOW. That said, though, the fact that we were in a position to win this game as late as midway through the third quarter (or thereabouts) is going to look a whole lot better to the committee (assuming, of course, that we get our acts together enough to be under consideration a that point, anyway) than that atrocious performance put in by Stephen F. Austin. That sort of thing shouldn't be allowed....

More bad officiating today. Right after temporarily knocking out the Portland State starting quarterback near the end of the first half, Wazzu tried to take out the backup for the Daily Double. That was called. What was missed was something on a 100+ yard pick six that should definitely NOT have been a pick six. The PSU quarterback was the ONLY Viking to get back to try to defend the play (that would be concerning enough, and I've been on the wrong side of that myself while I was at UOP). A second Wazzu DB trailed the play as a blocker, and he punched the quarterback in the mouth to keep him from making the tackle. The jerking back of his head was obvious, but the zebras let him get away with it. Was the officiating world so offended by what MT State did last week that they have to go out of their way to prevent a recurrence?!? SMH....

Missouri State scored to take a 7-0 lead in Missoula after a muffed punt (Junior Bergen is dinged up and seemingly not playing).
