https://www.theguardian.com/film/2024/s ... 9Z0KhPwRww“Step by step, you can see that enough uncertainty was being injected into the system, and enough small gains were being made, to result in potentially a cataclysmic outcome.”
Though Trump may deny any responsibility for January 6, his efforts to undermine the American electoral process and discredit the result in 2020 began the night of the election, before any network had even called it for Biden. At 2.30am, after news networks projected a Biden win in the crucial swing state of Arizona, Trump held an impromptu press conference in which he falsely claimed: “Frankly, we did win this election.” What happened next is a matter of real-time journalistic record, playing out over several weeks and relived in Stopping the Steal by the people who were there: administration pressure on election officials in Arizona and Georgia to support evidence-free claims of fraud or, in one infamous Trump phone call, to find him “11,780 votes”; activation of misinformation channels and true believers, who latched on to claims of fraud, harassed election officials and showed up outside county offices armed with AR-15s; a media campaign by Trump’s lawyers Rudy Giuliani, Sidney Powell, Jenna Ellis and others bringing fringe legal “theories” into the mainstream; and finally the legitimization of crackpot legal theories to hijack the arcane electoral college, culminating in Trump’s January 6 rally.
Stopping the Steal synthesizes these many episodes, through the perspectives of the officials – the then attorney general, Bill Barr; the Maricopa county supervisor, Clint Hickman; the Georgia secretary of state, Brad Raffensperger; the Georgia election operations manager, Gabriel Sterling – who worked to prevent the steal by simply doing their jobs. The framing offers “a story told by people who love Trump, but who love democracy more, who love the institution more”, said Reed – mostly, Republicans who “held the line and who came under extraordinary pressure”.
By their own admission in Stopping the Steal, these officials would have entertained evidence of voter fraud, even celebrated it, had there been any. “I had every motivation,” says Rusty Bowers, Arizona’s former speaker of the house, in the film. But there wasn’t – and Trump knew it. “He knows he lost,” says Stephanie Grisham, a Trump campaign and White House official for six years. “But he’s a narcissist and his ego will not accept defeat. And when you have people who will so willingly come around you and tell you you didn’t lose and the things you want to hear … that enables him to double down and triple down.”

If you'll recall the debate, the purpose of that gibberish was to avoid answering the moderator's question about trump killing the Republican border bill so that he'd have the issue to use right now. I’d prefer a VP who doesn’t jump at conspiracy theories to score political points and then admits it may be made up and then doubles back and defends it without knowing what’s true and what’s conspiracy based.
You were close in having this right. Border security is a serious issue that Trump and Vance could legitimately argue but they sadly chose to exploit with unverified rumors and innuendo on an immigrant issue that has little to nothing to do with border security.
It’s just “look at those filthy subhuman immigrants. They’re animals!”
Not only dishonest but not a winning political strategy. Trump and Vance are not our best and brightest.

Except Trump didnt kill the border bill. That was a lie the media made up to deflect the shitty job Cumala was doing as border czar. Its still a lie, just like the Russia lie

More evidence that unions are not really in it for the workers they are in it for themselves.

Oh. Don't want to answer who the 5 people outside Babbit that died, so you weirdly try to change the topic to Trump.
Also, it's very interesting how you trust stories about Ohio State wrestlers being overpowered and having their weiners touched, but now suddenly don't believe the people of a town who are on record at the city council meeting and the Springfield non emergency line talking about how they actually witnessed geese being killed.
Yes, you have TDS bad.
Trump' is going to try and get another debate too.

Re: Trump vs Harris
Fubby reasoning
One is a nothing more than a marginally-trained seal who will do absolutely nothing to prevent more ruinous actions & horrid policies from running rampant in our country.
The other one is just an asshole who will, more often than not, take actions and enable policies that will not ruin our country. We were not ruined from 2016-2020, but we stand on the precipice of ruin now.
As human beings, FUBeAR wouldn’t piss on either of them if they were on fire.
FUBeAR is opposed to 4 (or 8) more years of advancing a Marxist & authoritarian federal government with completely incompetent foreign & defense policies. He fears that. The thought of his children & (potential) grandchildren being forced to live (or rather survive) in what, in reality, will result from the State/Party-centered “utopian” vision the Democrats have for America chills him to his core.
That’s what a vote FOR Kamala Harris and (almost) any Democrat Candidate will bring.
Objective observers can easily see that and are not hoodwinked by the continuous and relentless gaslighting of the Democrat Party and their enablers in the media.
Donald Trump may be a million miles away from the RIGHT kind of Executive Officer this country needs right now, but another empty-vessel Bidenesque figurehead, as Kamala Harris clearly is, is absolutely the WRONG direction.
It’s that simple.

The funniest thing about the Springfield hoax and stories coming from citizens is that clearly, MAGA pays no attention to the crazy on neighborhood and community message boards.

I don't know how accurate this is but it fits here.
The long-term ramifications of doneOLD's foreign policy, proposed tariffs, project 2025, etc. would be catastrophic. He can attempt to distance himself from project 2025 all he wants but only a fool would trust him. doneOLD and MAQA yahoos prioritize their cultural policies over economic success.
If policy is what matters, a strong argument could be made to vote for harris despite how bad many of her potential policies (taxing unrealized gains) could be.

If you get to attach Project 25 to Trump (something he didn’t come up with), then every Econ policy proposal Commiela has ever made (that actually came out of her mouth) gets attached to her. Her surrogates flip flop claims don’t hold water, as only a fool would trust her. Commiela’s economic platform:
1.Price controls.
2.Taxing Unrealized gains.
3.70-80% upper tax rate.
4.Cap gains increased from 20 to 45%
6.Mandating EVs/Banning ICE engines.
7. Banning fracking.
8. Banning offshore drilling.
9.Banning all private health insurance, mandating single payer for everyone.
10.Reparations
Anyone who thinks what Trump has proposed economically is worse than the above 10 Harris economic proposals is truly
