Sounds about right. Wasn't too long ago I used to respect the Red Sox and actually root for them against just about any team other than the O's and I hardly ever ever ever saw or heard of a Red Sox fan outside of the NE area. Now I simply loathe everything about the team and their fairweather fans.
Surely you dont loathe me :)
I've only known you while the Red Sox have been on top. Impossible to tell if you are a fairweather fan. I did notice the amount of Patriot propaganda dropped dramatically post Brady injury though.

Loathe = jealous.

O's fans in particular are pretty sad. They had the best stadium in baseball, sell-outs every night, and a baseball crazy town. But the O's management, rather than capitalize on the O's strengths, have mismanaged what could be one of baseball's flagship franchises into second-class citizens.

And then their fans, rather than demand competence from their management, write silly articles like this one in which they call some other team that routinely beats their O's -- and turns the O's home field into their own -- "evil." Then what do you expect from a group of fans who still cry, 13 years later, about an over-exuberent 12-year-old boy? :shake:
MAN! My opinion of Joe has dropped dramatically in my book the last two days!

I think you're taking sports board BS talk a little too seriously.

When you played football at Towson, the ball bustin' BS that went down in your lockerroom was 10X worse than the PG stuff that gets said around here. Did you take that seriously too?

Come on, Andy, it's funny that a whole city of sports fans still openly lament about what some little kid did at a baseball almost 13 years ago.

You know, when the Mitchell Report came out, and all those Yankees were named, I took the BS and razzing over at the AGS board good naturedly. Now that I have a chance to turn it around some, and some other teams have taken a hit, all you guys who dished it out now seemed to have developed a pretty thin skin.

In a thread about the Mitchell Report on AGS, in which I was targeted as a Yankee fan (and which I played along good naturedly), bandl joked (or I thought it was a joke), that I feel "compelled to defend PED use in baseball because I am a Yankee fan." So in a recent thread about steroid use, I told bandl that he felt compelled to defend steroid use in baseball because he was a Washington Redskins fan (a joke about the futility of his baseball team), to which he responded:
bandl wrote:No you floppy-eared *******, I am not defending any PED users. What the **** is it with you? I have never DEFENDED a single player. Any suspensions/fines/punishments they have recieved they have deserved IMO. My problem is the vast amount of dickwad Yankee fans that defend the Yankees as if they are the ONLY clean and clear team to ever exist in baseball. Are you just in denial because other teams are better at cheating and winning than the Yankees are?
So I get in. You guys get to bust my balls about the Yankees all you want, but I can't bust back. So why don't we wait until October, because it is likely that the Yankees will lose a playoff series, and then you guys can go back to busting my balls again.

And, with respect to the 1998 Yankees -- against whom there is no proof of any PED use by any member during 1998, or anytime earlier -- I'll repeat the words of Col. Hogan when I said, in that Mitchell Report thread, that no doubt members of the 2004 Sox were using PEDs. He scoffed: "Where's the proof counselor?"

That's not the reason...I really couldn't care less about baseball/PEDs....after all, it's just a game. You know exactly what you said to me, don't try to spin it.

If you want to spin an off-handed comment about how you overreacted to a joke about your baseball team into something that was never intended, that's your perogative.

The initial joke/comment I didn't have a problem with. I did have a problem with the fact that you went out of your way to edit the post (Yes, I saw the post before you edited it) and added the little blurb about how I have changed since I was married. This is all very true, I have changed, and my wife and I have had counseling for it. Once again, my wife and I sincerely apologize to you for having a miscarriage that changed me and my outlook on life.

bandl: I am truly sorry to learn about the miscarriage, but I would hope you would know me better by now to know that I had no intention to make light of such a sad event. I was joking; in retrospect, knowing what I know now, I never would have made that comment. And seriously, I really haven't noticed any change since you were married. The comment was just one of those stock comments guys make about other guys who just got married.

I hope and pray you guys find peace. I understand that the comment, as unintentional as it may have been, hit a little too close to home for you, and for that I truly apologize. What I said immediately after your post was heartfelt. I have always enjoyed BSing with you about sports, Yanks v.Os, Giants v. Redskins, and agree those discussions are just ways to blow off stress and be like carefree little kids again for a moment, and have little significance otherwise.

Hey bandle, I believe JJ on this. He was making a joke. He had no clue, as did the rest of us to your real life situation. I was just piling on the Yankee scum while I could.

These new baseball standing layouts have me confused.

What does "E" under the category "E#" mean??
