Patriots Release Walter, Deal For Feeley Could Be In Works

Post by UNHWildCats »

The Patriots have released backup quarterback Andrew Walter. The move was confirmed via email by Walter's agent, Jeff Sperbeck.

Walter's release leaves the Patriots with just Tom Brady and rookie Brian Hoyer at quarterback and could be a precursor to the acquisition of a veteran backup QB.

Walter was clearly agitated in the locker room following the Patriots' 38-27 victory over the New York Giants, a game in which he didn't play a snap as Hoyer went the distance.

This move will be sure to intensify the rumors around New England that the Patriots will make a trde for AJ Feeley.

Hmmm, wonder what you would be willing to give the Eagles. Seems like a good move with Kolb and Vick on the team... not much space for Feeley

I'd imagine it would be for a draft pick somewhere around 2-4 round. The Pats also have a TE they will need to trade or release at somepoint... not sure if Phillt has a need for a TE or not.

The Patsies would be better off signing Grogan....
