Yeah, who cares if southern CA doesn’t get enough water. To hell with LA let it burn. Fish are more important than people, the majority of whom (about 3/4 LA Co) are people of color.
Did I do that one right?

The Klamath starts in Oregon and is 700+ miles from LA. You have S. Oregon and NoCal who might want that first.

Water supply only one issue with firefighting. Reservoir management, pumping systems, storm water runoff etc etc etc also factor in.
Few places if any built to handle the type of instant demand and volume needed to fight fires of this magnitude. They haven’t kept up with climate change impacts.
Salmon habitat is crucial to more than just fish. EG…a bear eats a spawning salmon, poops up on the hill and the nutrients in that fish fertilize specific plant and tree species that flourish off nutrients carried from the Pacific 100’s-1000’s of miles to their natal streams. The birds, ungulates, and all sorts of critters and yes, humans benefit from this awesome system. That’s just one quick example.
We crap in our own bed (the planet) and you want to blame the fish?
Not to mention 20 million people weren’t meant to survive in a desert.
Humans are the problem.
Yeah…I’d just attempt insults rather than engage in a thoughtful discussion if I were you as well.Caribbean Hen wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 7:39 amRev Jim Jones materialkalm wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2025 9:50 pm

Good post on this. It is a concern, you have so many people living in an area that takes so much outside resources to keep it going. And where are the creative solutions? The Palisades just burned, there were complaints about the lack of water, and that location sits right next to the Pacific ocean. Obviously, salt water has it's own issues in terms of piping, but there clearly has to be a solution of some kind that uses the big body of water (i.e. the Pacific Ocean) to handle fires that are literally right on the beach or very nearby. Different issue than what they're facing with the Eaton fires around Pasedena, but not for beachfront locations.kalm wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2025 9:50 pmThe Klamath starts in Oregon and is 700+ miles from LA. Your post says otherwise ...
The left…in control of the weather, egg prices, working class wages, violent right wing extremists, and the transfer portal.
I dont even know who Brian is?
Just like you, BDK, CH, etc. are laughing at 5+ being killed in the California fires. That's fucked up but you think its ok.
Who’s you guys?
Wrong. Native Americans have reservations, casinos, etc. I've see firsthand the difference in underbrush between the Warm Springs Reservation and the Mount Hood National Forest. Native Americans were clearing brush to reduce the risk of fires long before trump said anything. They get the credit, not your golden calf trump.BobQat wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 4:52 pm No such thing as native American land we conquered them and took it. If we didnt do it someone else would have. Only the strong survive.
I am not laughing at anyone dying in the fires. I simply dont care because everyone knows the people they elected at every level are incompetent retards that think DEI is more important than hiring qualified people and that the money they could have used to protect themselves was better sent to Ukraine
BobQat is calling us kalm ...

I'm not deluded enough to be absolutely sure I'm on the right side but I'm willing to listen to multiple viewpoints and do my best.
FTR, they were clearing brush on Native American land to reduce the risk of fires long before trump said anything so let's give credit where credit is due.

That's the point, you weren't. Just like neither I or kalm were laughing at Brian Thompson's death despite BobQat's claims to the contrary.BDKJMU wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 6:40 pmLink to where I am laughing?UNI88 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2025 4:00 pm
