I get that that's a fun meme to go with whenever there is an environmental disaster, but it's way too simplistic and dated for what's going on now. This is happening in CA, in the hotbed (pardon the unintended pun) of folks and politicians that already believe climate change is real. It's happening where supposedly these same folks and politicians would be passing legislation and taking actions at all levels of government to deal with climate change. What's happened has been a colossal disaster of government mismanagement and priorities. CA, and LA specifically, has always been a location that is ripe for wild fires, and the advance of climate change just makes it even more so. In such a location, then, there should have been far more priority to advance wild fire prevention - increasing the water supply, coming up with creative ways to use temporary water sources like that big old ocean sitting right next to the beachfront homes that burned, clearing our forests of dead material that can accelerate a fire, improving the electrical distribution system so that we don't spark a fire in the first place, etc. Just because Trump says some of these things doesn't mean they aren't correct. This didn't need to happen, and thousands of people are sadly and unnecessarily suffering as a result.

You are correct. It's fun but too simplistic like most memes including the ones that BDK posts from patriotpost.us.

As I've stated, Native Americans have been clearing forests of dead material since before trump was born.

Which is great. White people have been clearing the forests too, apparently until recently around LA. But that's a perfect example of what really needs to be done. I really don't care if we have a global "commitment" to fighting climate change or other really pointless and feckless announcements (i.e. the Paris Agreement). What needs to be done is taking the adaptions and modifications we need to do now to live with the fact that the climate is changing and has already changed. Even if everyone everywhere (i.e. China and India) stops emitting greenhouse gasses today, we still have a good 50 years worth of climate change to get through and survive before we'd even start seeing the benefits of that improvement. And of course, everyone everywhere isn't anywhere close to sopping emissions, so it's just common sense to work on things that can be accomplished and can have meaningful impacts today and for basically the next 50-75 years. That's where the real efforts should be targeted.

Why Trump and BDK are wrong regarding the fires.
“There is a connection between the fire and the Resnicks. But it’s not as direct as people think. Or rather, it’s direct but from a different direction. It’s less about their particular control of so much water and more about what this control says about California and our world.

The Resnicks control a huge amount of water. They use to irrigate their vast holdings of pistachios and almonds and citrus fruit. And their holdings are vast — somewhere around 300 square miles of land spread around the Central Valley. That’s ten times the size of Manhattan. But the problem with the Resnicks is not that they’re hoarding water.

Los Angles is the most powerful city in California and is itself is a massive water baron that has huge amounts of water in storage — water, by the way, that the city continuously plunders from regions hundred of miles away: one of LA’s aqueducts crosses state lines into Arizona to take water from the Colorado River; another stretches for over 200 miles and reaches 3,500 feet above sea level into the Sierra Nevada Mountains; while a third taps water from a dam 550 miles north of LA. So it’s not about the lack of water in Los Angeles. It’s about the larger political-technological machine that both LA and the Resnicks are plugged into.

I’m talking about the terraforming system that has been built over the last century in California.

This system, which involves massive dams and thousands of miles of aqueducts, moves water from the north of the state to the south. It is nominally owned by the public and run by a democratic process. But that’s mostly a ruse. The truth is that from the very beginning, this system has been under the control of a local California oligarchy made up mostly of billionaire farmers and real estate speculators. The basic function of this terraforming system is to move water from California’s mountains to California’s semi-arid valleys and coastal areas in order to fuel speculative agriculture and suburban development.”
A lot of building and development has happened in the hills and mountains of Los Angeles and Southern California. These are areas that are supposed to go through natural cycles of fire. But now they’ve been packed with houses…just ready for the right conditions to burn. To put it another way, this terraforming-water system has subsidized the creation of housing in places where it should not exist. It helped create the perfect matchbox. And this matchbox is burning right now in Los Angeles.

I'm glad that there's attention on the Renicks. They really are horrible, and more people should know what they’re up to. But the issue is not so much that they personally control so much water, it’s about their connection to something much more sinister and political. It’s about the ecocidal terraforming system that underpins the California way of life.

California has been 100% run by Democrats and the left for years with veto proof supermajorities in both state houses.
-Donks have controlled the CA state assemby for for all but 2 years since 1970 (1995-1996).
-Donks have controlled the CA state senate since 1974 and now have a 30-10 supermajority.
-CA has voted donk in every POTUS election since 1992, and last had a conk gov (Swarzenegger) 14 years ago (and I would imagine every statewide office since at least then).
CA is about the deepest blue state there is.

Kalm: The wildfires aren’t the fault of Democrats and the left.

I never said that. Of course they’re complicit. Christ I’m complicit for eating avocados and almonds.

It also goes way back further than Dem control. Those same Central Valley Ag interests got Reagan elected governor and helped him ascend to the presidency.

Developers, builders associations, realtors also tend to lean right.

The irony of your confusion is that neither Trump or you would EVER blame big ag and real estate developers.

So you still lose.

Wrong. See my above edit about veto proof donk CA supermajorities in both houses. Donks can do whatever they want in CA. Can’t get any bluer. Big ag and real estate leaning right doesn’t mean shit when the right doesn’t run shit in CA.

The left 100% runs CA and has for years. YOU LOSE.

Just like you, BDK, CH, etc. are laughing at 5+ being killed in the California fires. That's fucked up but you think its ok.

I'm not deluded enough to be absolutely sure I'm on the right side but I'm willing to listen to multiple viewpoints and do my best.

FTR, they were clearing brush on Native American land to reduce the risk of fires long before trump said anything so let's give credit where credit is due.

Leaked memo reveals LA Mayor Karen Bass demanded her fire department cut an extra $49 million just ONE WEEK before wildfires broke out

This cut is already on top of $17.6million of cuts in her latest budget.

The extra cuts, requested just days before fires broke out and devastated swathes of Los Angeles, would have shut down 16 fire stations and crippled the department's ability to respond to emergencies, sources said.…..
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/articl ... mailonline

Needed more $$$ for illegals, homeless, and drug addicts.
Remember when Bass was on Biden’s short list for VP.
Pretty obvious her political career is over. And Newscum might be done as far as 2028 goes..

This isn't some MAQA yahoo echo chamber where you can make spurious claims and then depend on other MAQA yahoos to pile on to cover for the lack of proof.

Bidens FEMA failed NC during the hurricane but now its failing the people that think hes God, FEMA is destroying CA faster than California can.

You get what you vote for and this is another learning lesson that needs to be crammed down their liberal throats. The only thing that is not for certain is if KKKalm and MGR will gleefully enjoy these people suffering or if they only do that when CEOs are murdered.
