Yep.
You do realize that the opposite is also true and those that were decrying government workers losing their jobs over COVID shots who are now celebrating these job losses are also the "Biggest hypocrite(s) on the board".

You, SG and kalm are in the qlub toqether.
False equivalency. One is government workers sitting around with their thumbs up their butts and having to finally deal with what the public deals with...if you're worthless, you should be out of a job.

The other has to do with punishing a person because they didn't inject themselves with a novel vaccine that has no long term safety studies. You better not ever say, " my body, my choice" when it comes to abortions.

Ahem…one was a sincere science and history based desire to save lives, end the pandemic sooner, and get the economy back on track.

The other is a cult that supports a massive wealth transfer to the top 1%.

People who spat in the face of attempts at reducing community spread because…ma freedom…simply faced consequences for their selfish actions. They’re doing so again with current economics.

:coffee:

But yeah…let’s argue some more over the virtues of community versus imaginary rugged self reliance. While masks are being required at hospitals and clinics right now.

Didn't you complain earlier about using/interpreting answers to broad questions to get targeted/possibly misleading results?

Because I too "support taking "full-scale effort to find and eliminate fraud and waste in government expenditures". I don't think that is what elon and doge are doing though. People are all for eliminating fraud and waste but they disagree on what constitutes fraud and waste.

If you asked people about cutting funding for medical/scientific research, paying to keep National Parks open, etc. the percentage of people that support it will drop precipitously.

From the Lynnwood Times:

🚨
THE FEUD BETWEEN SENATOR PATTY MURRAY AND ELON MUSKHEATS UP OVER THE WEEKEND

On Saturday, Senator Patty Murray, Vice Chair of the Senate Appropriations Committee, accuses DOGE-kingpin Elon Musk of not knowing how to read a usaspending.gov report.

PATTY MURRAY SATURDAY: "A program isn't waste just because it doesn’t help the richest man in the world. It isn't fraud because he doesn't like it.... He doesn't know how to count!"

ELON MUSK REPLIED SUNDAY: "What did you get done this week?"

PATTY MURRAY REPLIED SUNDAY: "I work for the people of WA state, not you. Explain to my constituents how firing hundreds at
Bonneville Power Administration like engineers & line workers is efficient. PNW ratepayers fund BPA—firing them doesn't save taxpayers a DIME. Our grid is less secure because YOU don't have a clue."

Pacific Northwest agencies impacted by the reduction in force by DOGE include the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL), the Hanford Nuclear Reservation, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), and the Bonneville Power Administration (BPA).

The Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) alone could lose 20% of its workforce (or about 600 employees) and is responsible for providing clean and reliable energy to 28% of the Pacific Northwest. Nearly 200 workers at the BPA already resigned after accepting a federal buy out, while 90 offers were rescinded. An additional 100 employees were terminated, according to Krem2 News.

Senator Murray released a statement last week condemning the actions by DOGE saying, "These are literally the people who help keep the lights on—and now they’re being fired on a whim because Trump and Elon Musk don’t have a clue about what they do and why it’s important, and don’t care to learn
."

When it came to gay marriage, you were against states’ rights. But when it comes to states discriminating against women by allowing men to play womens’ sports (and use womens’ locker rooms) you are for states’ rights. Why do you hate women? QNI88 the hypoqrite.
Do you have links to actual posts where I was against states' rights?

I'm pretty sure I opposed states discriminating against gay people and wanted those laws overturned in the courts not by executive orders from biden (or Obama). From a governmental perspective, a marriage is simply a contract between people, a partnership. How do you legally justify only allowing a man and a woman but not two men or two women to enter into such a contract?

Supporting states' rights doesn't mean I can't/shouldn't criticize state laws and policies that I believe are illegal or wrong.

FTR - I'm against forcing female athletes to compete against athletes that were born male. But I don't think an executive order is the right approach to it and Maine and others are well within their right to challenge such an order in the court of law. It is also fair to question the legality of trump withholding funding approved by Congress in retaliation. That is also being litigated as it should be.

trump attempted to bully the Governor of Maine and she stood up to him to his elementary playground bullshit. Good for her!
 Trump got the Gov of Maine to publicly stand on the 20 side of an 80/20 issue: defending allowing men to play in women‘s sports. That’s what the gen public sees

Federal technology staffers resign rather than help Musk and DOGE
“We swore to serve the American people and uphold our oath to the Constitution across presidential administrations,” the 21 staffers wrote in a joint resignation letter, a copy of which was obtained by The Associated Press. “However, it has become clear that we can no longer honor those commitments.”

The employees also warned that many of those enlisted by Musk to help him slash the size of the federal government under President Donald Trump’s administration were political ideologues who did not have the necessary skills or experience for the task ahead of them.
Scruples and integrity are not welcome in the trump regime.

All 21? musk enlisted 21 biden/harris voters to help him with doge? I can't prove it but I doubt it.

More importantly, being a biden/harris voters shouldn't disqualify anyone from a job or from having a valid opinion. Dismissing them for that is no better than calling trump voters deplorables.

Americans now view Elon Musk and DOGE far less favorably than the programs DOGE is slashing, poll shows
Some 50% of people had a favorable view of the CFPB, the agency Congress created in the aftermath of the Great Recession to act as a consumer finance watchdog and which Musk once said he wanted to “delete.” In comparison, just 19% said they had an unfavorable view of the CFPB, according to the poll, fielded between Feb. 9-11. The Trump administration has cut hundreds of CFPB staffers and ordered others to stop work, but the effort to dismantle the agency is on hold while a lawsuit works its way through the courts.

The Environmental Protection Agency, where hundreds of staffers have been fired and more cuts are reportedly in the works, enjoyed a favorable view by 61% of respondents. Even the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), less popular than many agencies, was viewed positively by 46% of respondents.

Meanwhile, DOGE itself had just 42% of respondents seeing it favorably, while 38% had an unfavorable view, according to the survey. A separate question about Elon Musk personally showed that 42% of respondents saw him favorably while 52% had an unfavorable opinion.

Even the IRS, historically one of the least popular government agencies, had its defenders in the survey. Nearly two-thirds (63%) of poll takers opposed ending an IRS program that allowed taxpayers to file their returns online, including 50% of Trump voters.
...
“When you start to think about the implications of firing the scientists who are looking at avian flu, firing the inspectors who make sure our meat is safe, firing IRS officials who make sure Americans get their checks, Americans will start seeing the impacts of that.”

Nearly 40% of contracts canceled by Musk's DOGE are expected to produce no savings
The Department of Government Efficiency, run by Trump adviser Elon Musk, published an updated list Monday of nearly 2,300 contracts that agencies terminated in recent weeks across the federal government. Data published on DOGE's “Wall of Receipts” shows that more than one-third of the contract cancellations, 794 in all, are expected to yield no savings.

That’s usually because the total value of the contracts has already been fully obligated, which means the government has a legal requirement to spend the funds for the goods or services it purchased and in many cases has already done so.
