She said the April letter does not make clear what the department believes a DEI program entails or when it believes such programs cross the line into violating civil rights law. “The Letter does not even define what a ‘DEI program’ is,” McCafferty wrote.
The judge also said there is reason to believe the department's actions amount to a violation of teachers' free speech rights.
“A professor runs afoul of the 2025 Letter if she expresses the view in her teaching that structural racism exists in America, but does not do so if she denies structural racism’s existence. That is textbook viewpoint discrimination,” McCafferty wrote.

For the record, the less fortunate in this country are able to not only receive tax payer monies in various forms of assistance, but charitable donations as well. Hell, even the illegals are given a room, food, basic necessities and emergency Medicaid if needed. They cannot be denied healthcare services.

I'm probably best described as a deist (like many of our Founding Fathers). I believe in a higher power that doesn't intervene in our world very often so it's up to us to take care of ourselves, others and our planet (God helps those who help themselves). I feel that I'm closer to "god" standing on a mountain top or next to a waterfall than I am in any church. I became disillusioned with organized Christianity as a kid when I started to notice all of the hypocrites who were assholes 6 days a week and thought that going through the motions on Sundays was all they had to do. I do hope they saw the light, confessed their sins and accepted Jesus on their deathbed. I hope trump will do the same when his time comes.
Rounding up illegal immigrants and sending them to 3rd world prisons regardless of the fact that for some their only crime was coming to this country illegally is not very Christian. Neither is separating families or sending children with life-threatening diseases out of the country. Republicans can no longer claim to be the "party of life" or "family values". They're hypocrites if they do.
I try to further the common good by being good to others, volunteering in my community and standing up for the less fortunate.

To answer your question, I've accepted that I'm not even close to perfect and never will be, and thus, am grateful for the Grace of God. I've accepted that I am a sinner and no matter how hard I try, I can't work my way into heaven. It's only through Jesus that I have a path. As such, I don't moralize because that is not the point. Just read the latter books of the New Testament and that should be clear.
I further my beliefs by treating everyone with respect and to me, more importantly with respect, except dipshits on this board, and give money to causes that help the less fortunate. Before my youngest, my wife and I both were able to give "works", but now cannot.
Your backstory is depressingly common, but yet you still keep pushing the narrative that others somehow need to work their way to heaven. That is what I take offense to - the fact you keep trying to sell the Grace of God as inadequate.

Why am I not taking illegals into my home to prevent them from being rounded up? Wouldn't that be illegal? I'm not a criminal like our President. I also have 3 kids that are my priority and getting arrested and sent to El Salvador would get in the way of my being there for them? Bullshit, you moralize toward me and my posts on a regular basis and then get mad when the tables are turned. You have every right to practice Christianity as you like. You don't have the right to expect the same of others or to attempt to marginalize them if their priorities do not align with your beliefs. I will continue to point out the hypocrisy of people who self-identify as Christians who think that homosexuality is a sin against god but loving your neighbor is optional. Tough if you don't like it.
Where did I "push the narrative that others somehow need to work their way to heaven"? I literally said about the assholes (like trump) "I do hope they saw the light, confessed their sins and accepted Jesus on their deathbed." God's grace doesn't mean that I can't point out the hypocrisy between their religion and their words and actions. I'm just trying to help them be a little better.
