you had no problem at all with the worst leader in the history of this country and his name was Dementia Joe and the Coverups ...
in fact, the swamp and the fake news that you support pretty much designed the Donald Trump you see today, so take your medicine
I had many problems with Biden. Can you say the same about Trump or is he batting a 1000 for you, Champ?![]()
I’m a lefty. Biden was a centrist, establishment Dem. But he was the only reasonable option in 2020.
None of which has anything to do with Trump’s persona and leadership capabilities on display.
Everything I don’t like is fake news! Wah!
But, but, but Biden! Wah!
Grow up.

Really, the biggest thing at this point is to resolve the trade/tariff question and what do we end up with. I seriously doubt, not including China, that the endgame is just to slap in place significant tariffs and that's it. There's no economic argument to be made for such a resolution. I fully expect that it's more of a game of chicken as to whether other countries think he's serious or not and also whether other countries even consider him sane or not and try to get the best deal. Bargaining chip or no, we're already starting to see (in manufacturing) the impacts of potential, long range tariffs, and it's not going to be something pretty. Get deals in place and even if they're not better than what we had before, he can troll all day long that they are better. Doesn't matter much to me as long as we get the deals in place.Caribbean Hen wrote: ↑Wed May 07, 2025 9:58 amThats fair, I bet the trolling will subside with time to some extentGannonFan wrote: ↑Wed May 07, 2025 9:11 am
Eventually, at some point, I do want my President to actually do his job, along with the legislature, to advance policy and laws to address the things that need to be addressed in this nation and things that require more attention and rigor than a simple executive action. Trolling is at least tolerable (not that I like it ever but I'll concede that others enjoy it) as long as the real work is being done. I'm not seeing the real work getting done yet.
What is your to do list for this administration?
Trump has a good record of keeping or trying to keep his campaign promises. Biden’s broken border has been repaired
It’s a shame that so many oppose him at every turn including TDS judges
As for China, I do see us going the way of a long, drawn out trade war. As I've said before, there's been a least a decades long movement of certain manufacture out of that country for a host of reasons, and the trend certainly looks to continue. No one's putting new business in China if at all avoidable. That could get ugly before it gets uglier. But that, I believe, is probably for the best. So get the other stuff not involving China fixed and resolved now.

How much cheap junk do Americans really need?
Seriously Trump was going to implement these tariffs no matter what this time, he’s been talking about them for 40 years and I think he just made a decision that I’m going to do this no matter what…. First year and if they fail, I have time to recover.
It’s obviously a big gamble, because not many people are liking them right now
But if the tradeoff for higher prices is tax relief, I’ll take tax relief any day.

Do you consider the countries over the past 50 years that have tariffs on the USA, sane, insane, crazy or any other buzzword you throw on Trump?GannonFan wrote: ↑Wed May 07, 2025 10:32 amReally, the biggest thing at this point is to resolve the trade/tariff question and what do we end up with. Re: Never Thought I'd Hear About THIS....
There's no way this could last a year, the tumult is about to happen soon and it has nothing to do with cheap junk. That's the problem, the tariffs hit everything. I'm not in a business where we make cheap junk, we're a high end, high technology manufacturer, most of which is US based. You can already see production grinding to a near-halt in just a few weeks. Either this gets resolved real quick or there's going to be real pain to be felt. There was a smart way to go about this and there was the audacious, don't give a damn about the details way of going about this. We chose the latter unfortunately.Caribbean Hen wrote: ↑Wed May 07, 2025 11:08 amIf every Walmart was leveled, would be fine with meGannonFan wrote: ↑Wed May 07, 2025 10:32 am

Whereas Biden had maybe the most self-own economic disaster of a Presidency in modern times with his Modern Monetary approach to spending (i.e. any amount of government spending is always good and more is even better), resulting in self-inflicted inflation and lower real wages at the end of his Presidency as compared to the start, Trump appears to have had a "hold my beer" moment and is trying to take the mantle of bad economic leadership from Biden. There's still time to correct this, but time is getting short.

Tired of it now ….why? Because it’s Trump
It’s refreshing to have a president that will say whatever is on his mind, and I think he’s zipped it when necessary, holy smokes Trump has answered more questions in the first three days of his presidency than Dim Biden did in four years…. I’ll take it
Alcatraz is just a troll
Trump is the TIC (Troller in Chief). It’s amazing how many people keep falling for it over and over and over.I would expect libs and TDSers to fall for it. I was expecting Kalm and 88 to fall for it. Not GF.
THE BOSS!

The other?... 300 lbs of semi-sentient Big Mac droppings confined by a steel-reinforced diaper who literally smells like shit everywhere he goes. (The upside is Pam Bondi changing his diaper after he once again "lets one go" during a "speech"
