Dude what do mean checkmate? I wasn't trying to argue a point with you as I said those are YOUR home numbers no matter who is in the stands. I'm happy to be counted in attendance and counted toward your #'s because it's always a blast going to a game in Cheney or in Spokane when it was in Joe Albi. It is my favorite place in the Big Sky to go see a game outside of WaGriz. We ain't opposing here BF.BlackFalkin wrote:lots of UM fans come to Cheney, i dont deny that, I used to love it personally!Ursus A. I can tell you that your season ticket sales are slightly higher on the years that the Griz play there as well because there are quite a few of us Griz fans that just buy EWU season tickets to make sure they have them for that game and then donate the other tickets to children's groups and so forth.
But the FACTS ARE, in 2005 Eastern played UM @ WG stadium and won! Eastern STILL averaged 7,090 fans! Only 26 fans less than when we HOSTED THE GRIZ![]()
2005: didnt host the griz attendance = 7,090
2006: did host the griz attendance = 7,111

When BF speaks...fans listen. WSU has a chance to beat CSU...they play Colorado 9/6(Sunday) then face WSU on one less day rest on 9/12. CSU may be beat up worse by facing Colorado than WSU vs Wyoming. They also may be looking past WSU at Nevada the following week.

Do you know anything about the CU/CSU series? Why would CSU get beat up by CU? Here's the results of the last few years:Obzerver wrote:When BF speaks...fans listen. 2000: 28-24 CSU
2001: 41-14 CU
2002: 19-14 CSU
2003: 42-35 CU
2004: 27-24 CU
2005: 31-28 CU
2006: 14-10 CSU
2007: 31-28 CU
2008: 38-17 CU
Hardly CSU getting beat up. Just because CSU is playing a Big 12 team doesn't mean they'll get beat up. The MWC has a very good track record of beating BCS teams, the best record of all the non-BCS conferences vs. BCS.

Weber I think had thier shot at an FBS upset and blew it, I think Weber will lose, but the team will play a much more improved game and be competitive. I would love to see a win, but I dont think it will happen, as long as Weber keeps the game close I'll be happy.

Re: Will FCS Weber beat FBS COLORADO ST, Sep 12?
CSU's game with the Buffs was not nearly as close as the score indicated. The Rams dominated that game, espcially the first half. CU was lucky they weren't down 30 at halftime. The Rams will get a big lead on Weber like Wyo did, but they won't let the Wildcats catch back up.AZGrizFan wrote:I don't think this one will be nearly as close as the Wyoming game.Wildcat Ryan wrote:Weber I think had thier shot at an FBS upset and blew it, I think Weber will lose, but the team will play a much more improved game and be competitive. And the Wyoming game was never close, or in doubt. CSU has 4 votes in the AP Poll to be ranked.
One should assume this game should turn out like most of the other Big Sky games against FBS' last Saturday.
...but I think if WSU improves after the Wyo game that it will be worth watching.

Agree that if they can fix that(and I think they will) and maybe even get a couple of their own then they can be respectable but if they don't fix it then it's a slaughter.BlackFalkin wrote:5 PICKS = loss fix that & Weber has a shot.

From the looks of things, just a few of them turnovers may well have been forced.Ursus A. Apparently Weber receivers were open all over the field, but Higgins had no time to deliver. Have to credit the pass rush for that outcome, so is these type "errors" really fixable?
Wyoming dominated the LOS fellas, how does that bode for Weber at Hughes?

Re: Will FCS Weber beat FBS COLORADO ST, Sep 12?
I don't know but Weber has always been strong on the O-Line and they may be able to fix it a bit from game one to game two. They may also try and make some adjustments to compensate for the attack on Higgins. Is it fixable...yes. Will they be able to overcome enough to win the game? Most likely not but I doubt you'll see 5 turnovers again. It does happen like it did to us last year when we had a run of 3 games where we had 5,6,7 turnovers but once it was taken care of we became a much better team out there.Wedgebuster wrote:From the looks of things, just a few of them turnovers may well have been forced.Ursus A. Re: Will FCS Weber beat FBS COLORADO ST, Sep 12?
Wyoming had a true freshman take most of the snaps at QB, and another freshman led all in rushing, and I still think they are not a very good team in their conference. I don't think they will go .500 this year, but it looks like Colorado State is going to be very good this season. Their line shoved CU all over the place Sunday night.
Maybe Weber can come up with the big effort to stay in the game like against Utah last year?
Obviously, Moo U. would have obliterated them last weekend.

Five interceptions, 2 touchdowns called back by penalties, and a blocked field goal, and they lost by 7, the game was actually closer than alot think, in my opinion Weber should have won, but mistakes kill you and thats what happened to the Cats, but I dont think it will happen this weekend, and thats why I dont think CSU will destroy Weber, the Game will be close.

Five interceptions- silly mistakes
Two TDs called back by penalty- trying to score while cheating
A blocked FG- well duh? Hello, special teams? Not a subject Wyoming fans want to discuss right now.
Bottom line is you were owned from the start physically, and mentally, and the game was out of hand in the 4th qtr if I remember right.
All I am saying is, Wyoming did kick Weber's butt, and CSU, IMO is a couple scores better than that at this point, at a minimum.
Wildcats are going up against a big, physical team on their home opener, good luck.
I mean that, GO CATS!

FIVE interceptions. Net loss of FOUR turnovers. Weber sucked!Wedgebuster wrote:And the Wyoming game was never close, or in doubt. They owned Weber from the first possession.AZGrizFan wrote:

But Weber was not "owned" by Wyoming. Weber did a lot of things that "owned" teams cannot do. They scored a two point conversion. An inexperienced defense forced several punts and three field goal attempts. The total yards were roughly even for the game despite the five interceptions. Weber's balanced offensive attack worked against one of the better Mountain West defenses for most of the game.
The Cowboy's offense was better than I expected. The two new quarterbacks played with few mistakes. With Christensen at the helm, Wyoming will not be the doormat of the conference for much longer.
If the Wildcats win the turnover battle, they can beat Colorado State. The keys will be no mistakes and keeping the offense on the field for most of the game.

Weber should at least be in the game for a while if Higgins doesn't keep making mistakes, but they won't win unless they shore up the run defense in a hurry. With all the new starters in the front 7, I don't think that'll happen.

Well said, except that the Weber front line is not the problem. They did their job against Wyoming. It was the inexperienced linebackers who were confused and failed to fill the gaps.Mvemjsunpx wrote:Weber should at least be in the game for a while if Higgins doesn't keep making mistakes, but they won't win unless they shore up the run defense in a hurry.
