Of course, because in red states the law enforcement would work alongside their law enforcement brethren in ICE, not to carry out immigration enforcement/arrests, but to be on the periphery to protect the ICE agents from the left wing crazies while the ICE agents carried out their enforcement duties. In blue sanctuary states (CA is the biggest sanctuary state of them all) there is no crowd control assistance from the local/state for the ICE, so its the other alphabet soup (ATF, DEA, FBI, HSI, Marshals, etc (stretched thin because of ICE operations all over the country + they have their own duties). Only other option is military.

The New York Times reports that traditional allies like Japan, Britain, Canada, France, and others are working more closely together as they look to build an alliance system without the United States. These new alliances are already yielding results. Canada, Britain, and the EU just made a $170 billion defense deal. Britain, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, and Norway just placed significant sanctions on two far-right Israeli Cabinet members. The deals made in recent weeks demonstrate the erosion of U.S. diplomatic legitimacy that Trump’s shirking of traditional Western order has caused—a troubling message, as the G7 summit is just days away.

Why the crazy obsession to make sure the bases named after Confederates stay named that way, even if now after other folks? For generic names, sure, finding someone else to name it after should be easy and largely unobjectionable. But to keep AP Hill, they're using 3 different guys - a guy named Hill, and two guys with and A and P as their names. And the irony of that is that those three guys won the Medal of Honor fighting AGAINST the Confederate general their names are going to be used to recreate. Heck, one of them fought directly against Hill at Cold Harbor. Imagine what that guy would think now and how some folks with zero knowledge of history are using his name? Using any Civil War vets to recreate the name of a Confederate so that that fort can keep the same name it had during the past 100+ years of Lost Cause bastardizing of history is just absolute lunacy.
