Well if everyone is in agreement that the mentally ill shouldn‘t have access to firearms, then trans shouldn‘t have access to firearms.

They're not mutually exclusive. One can be concerned about both communities.

Stating that "Anybody who is using this as an opportunity to villainize our trans community has lost their sense of common humanity" does not mean or even imply that one isn't concerned about "the Catholic community that just lost two little kids". I have a relative who’s a trans kid and she tested genius level IQ. Not an idiot. What’s not cool is judging her for being trans. In fact, it’s shitty.
