Date Opponent
9/6 @ Cal Poly
9/13 Southern Utah
9/20 UC Davis
9/27 Central Washington
10/4 @ Weber State
10/11 @ Eastern Washington
10/18 Sacramento State
10/25 @ Northern Colorado
11/1 Northern Arizona
11/8 @ Portland State
11/15 Idaho State
11/22 Montana State

Apparently the 2008 Griz OOC schedule is the first step in the master plan to combine the Big Sky and GWFC!

I'm gonna predict 9-3. Losses to Cal Poly, EWU and either NAU or MSU in Wa/Griz. 5-2 in conference, at large big to tourney, first round loss for some more fodder for the likes of 89Hen and GannonFan to rip the BSC for SOS and quality.

With a schedule like that, I'm predicting undie for the Griz. The only iffy game I see is Cow Poly.

If you're posting that on eGriz, you're going to get roasted for that. Can't be predicting even potential losses to the Kitties!

Well, I don't see the world through rose colored glass like some people.

This is a rebuilding year for the Griz. Thus the 9-3 mark. When the kitties rebuild, it's 4-7, 3-8. :D :D :D :D

Alright this is what i predict will happen for the 2008 Grizzlies:
Date Opponent
9/6 @ Cal Poly (The Griz will win a close game behind the arm of SR. QB Cole Bergguist and an experienced WR core.)
Score: 28-21 Griz

9/13 Southern Utah (SUU has a new coach and a new team. Though they will be getting better, no match for Griz at Wa/Griz.) Score: 42-21 Griz

9/20 UC Davis (Another GWC opponent. Though a good team they are still behind Cal Poly. Griz will win in a decent game.) Score: 35-14 Griz

9/27 Central Washington (A D-2 school. Do i need to say more? I dont agree with schedualing this game though, they should try playing a bad 1-A team like Utah State.) Score: 49-7 Griz

10/4 @ Weber State (The Wildcats are a team that is getting better. With Eatuie and a good QB in Higgins it will be a close game like always, but i see the Griz finishing over the Wildcats in a defensive struggle.) Score: 20-17 Griz.

10/11 @ Eastern Washington (Since this is somewhat of a rebuilding year for the Eagles i see a Griz win here. It seems they play better here agains EWU then in Wa/Griz stadium.) Score: 34-24 Griz

10/18 Sacramento State (Alright, pretty much SAC-State has no offenese and their defense has lost some key starters. I see the Griz winning in the long one in this matchup.) Score: 28-7 Griz

10/25 @ Northern Colorado (If the hype of the Florida transfer to UNC pays off i see a battle through the air. But this is only UNC's third year in the Big Sky. I see a better game between the two but with the same result.) Score: 42-27 Griz

11/1 Northern Arizona (The lumberjacks are one of those teams that seem to always be in the top 4 spots at the end of the year. But i dont see them winning at Wa/Griz.) Score: 27-17 Griz

11/8 @ Portland State (With a great coaching beginning to form a great team i see a very good and very close game between the two. Expect an air battle between Bergguist and Hubel with PSU's home advantage winning it) Score-51-49 Vikings

11/15 Idaho State (I see a Griz victory here due to the fact the bengals are on the road with a second year coach.) Score: 38-24 Griz

11/22 Montana State *108th meeting (Rivalry week. Always a good and hard hitting game between these two. Always fun to watch two teams play who hate each other. I see the Girz winning again due to the fact MSU is rebuiling their offense, and need to find one badly. Expect another good game but another Griz win in the seiries.) Score: 31-17 Griz

**Montana wins Big Sky Title (EWU will lose to Portland Stae)**

**Playoffs Prediction: I see the Griz making it through the first and second rounds but after that it becomes hazy. I think the Griz will be maturing as a unit and be able to make it to the Semis or the NC.**

GF88, I like the way you're thinking but you may be a little short sighted on the Cal Poly game. They are going to be even tougher this year with their senior laden offense combined with us having a lot of inexperience on the defense and a growing home atmosphere in their new digs at Cal Poly could spell some real trouble for us down there. I do hope that you are right but I see us losing this one by a score of something like 37-24.

I never said it would be eas and i know Cal Poly is a good team. I just think that Montana can pull it off in a close game. I know the inexperience on defense might spell doom for the Griz that game, but on offense the Griz can still get it done. Whoever is able to contain the opponents offense more will win the game. And since the Griz have a reputation for stingy defenses and Hauks recruiting thats why i gave the Griz the win. I can see your point however of Cal Poly winning at home...i just think the Griz could pull off the upset.

Alright, now i know that i am the fan of a team that is supposedly not good at all. Well all of that is going to change now with the new head coach Ted Lamb. He was the recruiting and special teams coach at San Diego and look how good their special teams and players at San Diego are. That is the future of SUU football and i can garuntee they will do alot better then last year. Taking the idea from Grizfan88 im going to post the shcedual and what i think.

Southern Utah Football 2008
-Sat, Aug 30 @Air Force: SUU will lose the season opener hopefully putting some points on the board and giving them a chance to gel as a team. Score: 38-14 Air Force

-Sat, Sep 06 Adams State: SUU will win its first game since 2006 in a lopsided victory over the Grizzlies.
Score: 42-10 SUU

-Sat, Sep 13 @Montana: After playing the Griz in a close game last year (was alot closer then the score showed) I belive that SUU will nearly pull off the upset against a rebuling Montana Team. Score: 31-28 Montana

-Sat, Sep 20 Northern Arizona: SUU will win in a close matched game. Home field advantage and a better T-Bird defense is key to winning this game. Score: 24-17 SUU

-Sat, Sep 27 @Texas State: SUU will win in a game containing two teams that struggled in 2007. SUU will need to pull off the victory on the road with consistent offense effeciency. Score: 28-20 SUU

-Sat, Oct 04 Youngstown State: SUU almost beat the Penguins on their home field in 2007. I see the long road trip being the factor of the Penguins loss. Score: 23-17 SUU

-Sat, Oct 11 *@UC Davis*: Conference for the T-Birds, I see a closer game then there have been in the past, but i see UC-Davis winning this one. Score: 34-21 UC-Davis

-Sat, Oct 25 *@Cal Poly *: Last Year Cal Poly underestimated the T-Birds and almost lost. I dont see that happening this year with a good Cal Poly team. Score: 35-20 Cal Poly

-Sat, Nov 08 *@North Dakota *: In 2007 The Sioux came into Cedar City and mopped the floor with Southern Utah. I dont see that happening this year with a young team at North Dakota, SUU will avenge last years loss. Score: 35-27 SUU

-Sat, Nov 15 *@South Dakota *: Being it South Dakotas first year in the FBS conference and considering they arent as good as North Dakota, i see the Coyotes being whipped by the Thunderbirds. Score: 42-24 SUU

-Sat, Nov 22 Northern Iowa: The only reason i see why Northern Iowa scheduled them this year was to get a final win in case they needed it to get into the playoffs. Might be a game for the first quarter. Score: 49-28 UNI

Overall SUU record for 2008: 6-5 (2-2 in conference play) A much improved record from last year.

Welcome - great to see a T-bird fan around here!

I of course, disagree on the September 20th game, but I am glad that NAU and SUU are renewing the series

Well i think it will still be a good game...just that SUU finally with a decent coach adn alot of unsung talent, i think they could pull off a win over the lumberjacks at home. Mind you it will still be a close game though.

I thought it was ridiculous you guys fired your head coach after last season. What the hell was he supposed to do with a murderers row schedule?
