Depends is a synonym for relies - your word.

The CDC shares data! Well that seals it. Way to move the goalposts. We are talking about health outcomes and the CDC is lacking.
Just ignore the foreign operations and personnel we have stationed all over the world. I know disease prevention isn’t your thang.

Have you researched outcomes or are you just pulling it out of your ass like RFK does?
 Yes, you've got me. You have any idea what we also do in those foreign countries? Countries that would take any countries help because it is free?

How is the CDC responsible for improving the poor health habits (eating, exercise, etc.) of many Americans?

They can provide information and guidelines but this is a free country where people are able to make their own choices, good or bad.
Those guidelines determine what our kids are forced to eat in schools for the most health formative years of one's life, in addition to what is eligible for those on government food assistance.

The CDC has been rightly criticized for its dipshittery and it's very obvious why when you see the idiots resigning.

Also, Europe is free as well, but has much better health.
For the most part, Europeans choose to eat better and exercise more than Americans.

They should improve what kids eat in schools. Better, healthier food tends to cost more. Where is that money coming from? MAQA is about cutting costs, especially in education. Is rfk jr going to force unfunded mandates on schools? If he and trump are serious then they will work with Congress to allocate funding to help schools improve their menus. I'll believe he's serious if he and trump put some money where their mouths are. Otherwise they're just typical politicians/bureaucrats.

Based on the first 7 months, the "idiots" that are resigning will be replaced with even bigger idiots demonstrating that loyalty to trump and the MAQA cause is more important than knowledge, experience or competence.

FTR - I like the efforts to improve American eating and exercise habits, especially with kids. I don't like the attacks on research and vaccines.

How many lives will be saved if HHS/CDC are able to improve the diet and exercise habits of Americans? Will they be offset by unnecessary loss of life due to less effective research/fewer scientific breakthroughs, fewer people taking proven vaccines, etc?

Then you don't understand science. To quote Cid from years ago, "peer review is one of the most acrimonious processes in science". We need that instead of pencil whipping. I want acrimony. Make the data available to all and force forums where they compete and present...like I used to have to do in college for my degree. Stop allowing monied interests to tell you something is safe, when they have no clue.

In regards to vaccines, I'm also fine with new science. Did you know that the Hepatitis B vaccine that is now given at birth, was originally created for drug users and sex workers (blood is key)? They did not perform an actual RCT on the administering of the Hep B to children and the placebo they used was a different version of Hep B vaccine, so adverse effects from adjuvants and preservatives could not be isolated AND they only counted adverse reactions for 5 days and then chalked any up to something else. "Nope, that adverse event was outside the 5 day window, so it CAN'T be the vaccine". You call that safe? Do you also know that only .07% of mothers present with and active Hep B infection? That's why they test the mom's before birth. No thank you. More science, as the majority of the vaccine schedule for children is full of instances like this.

If acrimony is important, why do you support jfk jr expunging people who don't support his agenda from the CDC and HHS?

jfk jr isn't pursuing acrimony and diversity of opinion, he's pursuing obedience to his and trump's vision.

Because they are fighting open review. They don't want to have anyone look at their data, nor defend it. Why do you think it's always broad statements that play to people's fears like, "JFK is dismantling all safety and we will all die". Oh really? Why don't you make that claim with data instead of broad factually void statements? They should have their facts and data ready to present and be heard, but not a single one has come forward any data proving their statements, because they cannot.

Remember Covid? Remember the censorship? The same shit happened there, but then actual life showed they were wrong. Remember how it went from getting the vaccines prevents you getting Covid to then only continually progress downhill after that? Any data that didn't support that narrative was vilified instead of debated.

So acrimony is good when it supports your case but bad when it doesn't? Sounds a little hypocritical.

rfk jr purging HHS/CDC of differing opinions is just censorship by the other side. You're okay with it because they're getting rid of people you disagree with but two wrongs don't make a right.

No, I don't use false dichotomy's like you. It is not a binary choice of either accept the CDC's "reality" or someone is designing policies to harm. That is a shamefully uninformed stance.

I want to hear ALL the science and I want it all available to the public. If the current staff at the CDC is afraid to stand behind their science with facts, they need to be released. The CDC has shown they are not about science, but policy decisions. Let's get back to real science and not the science where Director's state we shouldn't call risky sex during a Monkeypox outbreak as risky because people derive joy with their risky sex. Give me a fucking break.

WRONG. You're promoting a binary choice just like you allege the CDC did before rfk jr. You argue that acrimony is good for science but then turn around and support the opposite with rfk jr purging dissenting opinions. If acrimony is good then those dissenting opinions should be given an opportunity to present and compete. If their theories/approaches are inferior, they will be beaten out by better theories/approaches. They shouldn't be silenced simply because they don't fit the current regime's agenda any more than differing opinions should have been silenced during biden's term or in the early days of COVID.

Practice what you preach.

Other than Monarez, who was forced out? As I'm sure you are NOT aware, Biden changed the rules and required Senate approval for the CDC director.

Monarez wasn't following science, she was following outdated vaccine policy. Policy like I outlined in the Hep B vax that you didn't bother to rebut because you cannot. The others simply rage quit.

And I'll ask you again, where was their data showing RFK is risking lives? There is none because he's not removing vaccines, he's asking for testing that was PROMISED by the CDC and was never done.

Edit: For clarity purposes, it is the FDA that controls what vaccines get approved, but it is the CDC that recommends the dosing, usually on ACIPs recommendation. Monarez would not listen to ACIP.

She can still get the vaccine from her provider, just can't get it from CVS. In fact, I would bet her Oncologist could recommend it and give it to her at her cancer treatments, as you need to time it correctly depending on her cancer treatments.

Here is the old ACIP group recommending multiple adjuvanted vaccines be given at the same time, with no data to present and the fact Europe does not do this either.

Just administer different vaccines in different arms! That should work, I mean the arms aren't connected to the same system, right?

Monarez went against ACIP because RFK replaced idiots like this.

thank you for your educational and informative posts

I learn a lot by reading them

By the way, I got a shingles vaccine a few weeks ago and that thing kicked my ass. I felt like I got hit by a truck for two days and my arm was pretty sore. I can tell you though shingles is something I did not want to happen to myself or anyone else. I need to remember to go to my appointment for the second dose.

The US is having its worst year for measles in more than 30 years
The U.S. is having its worst year for measles spread in more than three decades, with a total of 1,288 cases nationally and another six months to go in 2025.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Wednesday that the national case count surpassed 2019, when there were 1,274 cases for the year and the country almost lost its status of having eliminated the vaccine-preventable illness. That could happen this year if the virus has nonstop spread for 12 months.
Whooping cough cases are rising again in the US
Whooping cough cases are rising, and doctors are bracing for yet another tough year.

There have been 8,485 cases reported in 2025, according to preliminary data from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. That’s twice as many cases as this time last year, based on the CDC’s final tally.
Give me your lame excuses why rfk jr's criticism of vaccines has nothing to do with these outbreaks. He bears ZERO responsibility. :sarcasm:

You are welcome. Good for you and your provider deciding to get the shingles vaccine. I've always said a person should make their own choices. As you can tell, my beef is when vaccines are forced on people when the risk is greater than the reward.

The first shingles kicked my ass too. I later found out it should be taken alone. I had mine with a flu shot and Covid booster.

Second shingles was a breeze. And you’re right…you don’t want shingles. I know it’s miserable.

Okay, now I understand. Thought you were saying a vaccine would be incorporated into dads DNA and then passed on to newborn.

More seriously though, let me give you a real scenario. You familiar with PKU? It's a recessive genetic disorder in which people are unable to breakdown the amino acid phenylalanine. Children are tested immediately after birth with a heel stick and that helps them to avoid foods with phenylalanine in it.

If not aware, the buildup can cause (from Mayo):

Hyperactivity
Intellectual disability
Delayed development
Behavioral, emotional and social problems
Mental health disorders

RFK is saying that he believes that in certain susceptible children, some vaccines can cause enough neurological damage that they are then diagnosed with autism. Very similar to the issues above.

We do zero testing on our newborns that checks against the vaccines and their adjuvants, preservatives and active components. In addition, the vast majority of childhood schedule vaccines were never tested against true saline placebos. They were either tested against different or previous versions of the vaccine, so there is no way to tell any difference if it was the vaccine or not that caused damage. In addition, the safety windows are usually around 30 days. After that, it's not the vaccine's fault. Also, the CDC promised long term studies on all childhood vaccines that were never performed.

So, with all that being said, is it so unreasonable to want the proper studies that would erase all doubt? Compared to the money blown by our government, the testing would be infinitesimal in cost and we might up even understand who is susceptible.

Here is an amazing chart created from the actual vaccine package inserts showing testing and safety duration of the childhood vaccines. The group producing this is the one that fought tooth and nail to get COVID information released that the CDC said they would release but didn't.

rfk jr in a 2023 Fox News interview- "“I do believe that autism does come from vaccines”.

It's good to know that you agree that rfk jr is Spandos level nutty.

Look at you, providing "context" for what rfk jr might have meant. Did he tell you that's what he meant? Did you read his mind and know with absolute certainty that's what he meant? Did he provide that context during that or subsequent interviews?

He's had plenty of opportunities to walk back those comments or provide that context. I could be wrong but I don't think he has. I choose to take him at his word. He said it, he owns it.

thank you for your educational and informative posts

I learn a lot by reading them

By the way, I got a shingles vaccine a few weeks ago and that thing kicked my ass. I felt like I got hit by a truck for two days and my arm was pretty sore. I can tell you though shingles is something I did not want to happen to myself or anyone else. I need to remember to go to my appointment for the second dose.
You got a vaccine? Have you had a vasectomy? If not, time to get one. You don't want to give any kids you might have autism.
You’re desperate

Still trying to create a MAGA yahoo on here so you can purge

I know his context because this IS the prevailing context on vaccines and hesitancy.

Why are you worried about testing the vaccines in a manner that was promised by the CDC years ago, but never embarked upon?

Data will set you free.

I obviously don't agree with Cruise Captain Krystol, but this to me was very interesting. Trump absolutely LOVES his Operation Warp Speed and this is the first time I seen him talk about it possibly not being a good as he thought.

To answer your question, vaccines are great, but they need to be fully vetted and possibly changed. When I say changed, I mean create them so they are more like how you would encounter them in real life. That won't always work, but we should be trying to maximize that aspect.

Not sure if you remember, but I stated many times during Covid that if they had used an attenuated vaccine that we could sniff up our noses, I would have had zero objections. For me, the risk of taking an EUA developed vaccine using novel technologies, was too great.

A example of what I'm driving at would be how parents of school aged children fared better during Covid. It was because kids are constantly bringing home every flipping respiratory illness and spreading it to parents. It's almost as if children are continually "micro dosing" parents. How do we naturally microdose people?
