They’re a monopolistic arm of the conservative movement. Owning the libs is more important than the open exchange of ideas. Ironically, this dishonors what Charlie Kirk was about.
Kimmel is for the open exchange of ideas? :ohno: Makes perfect sense. Allow a partisan hack to keep spewing his hatred because Kirk would have wanted it. The customers of Kimmel, the people, showed they don't give a crap about his partisanship due to his abysmal rating in important demographics.
The numbers on the night he returned say they give a crap.

Kimmel is allowed to say really whatever he wants to say (within the actual boundaries of free speech). Eventually his show will likely leave broadcast tv (probably at the end of his contract in January anyway) because people don't really watch broadcast tv anymore. If he has a real following, I'm sure he can continue his show in some streaming situation or something like that. But we didn't need nor want a President, like Trump did, push for that show, or any show, to be removed because of the words Kimmel used.
 kimmel will probably end up like tucker.

If kimmel is a partisan hack spewing hatred then so are hannity, waters, jennings, etc.

And those numbers were 6 times higher than what he was averaging for the past couple of years - people didn't really care a whole lot until Tuesday night. If he's smart, he should just play in to being a free speech martyr and perhaps he can hold on to some of those numbers and use that as leverage to stay on the air. But he's also swimming against the tide of broadcast tv irrelevance and the reality that most programming isn't there anymore.

Do you remember all the censorship pushed by the Biden administration during Covid? Because what is happening now pales in comparison. I didn't hear any complaining or fair statements from the Dems.

How is it a fallacy? Yes, TV is dying. All of it. Not just Kimmel. Who waits for 11:30 to watch a show when its usually posted to YouTube by 8:00? 20+million watched it that way in the first two days. Conan Obrien has YouTube clips new and old on his Team Coco channel that have millions of views.

You just don’t like any criticism of Dear Leader.

Here is a website I read daily. Go to this guy and see what you think about me caring two shits about criticism of Trump. It's good to hear multiple viewpoints.

In regards to the logical fallacy. One night does not mean that people care about Kimmel. They simply viewed to stick it to the Orange Man and his viewership will dwindle back to the level of them not caring. They might as well have put a sign out in their front yard saying, "I stand with Kimmel". Virtue signaling at it's finest.

Sounds like a good read based on realism. :thumb:
Lots of theater at the UN this week, but it does matter. Following up on our post from yesterday about the desperation of empires that are failing, signs are that the Trump regime will resort to expanding warfare in the attempt to maintain the Anglo-Zionist Empire. Venezuela looks like the immediate target. When I say “warfare”, however, what I mean is “start a bombing campaign” against another faraway country. A futile effort, as we should know by now—when was the last time one of America’s bombing campaigns against hapless, mostly defenseless, targets actually accomplished anything positive? Anything at all

If Trump bombs Venezuela, which I don’t think he will, it’s not because he’s bombing Venezuelan drug facilities.

Venezuela is hosting Hamas, the evil Chinese and Russia who also might be embedded with the drug lords though so if a strike happens, you’re not gonna know exactly why!

Pretty soon the DTO’s won’t be able to find these mules to run these drug boats up north and when they branch out to other routes, it’s just gonna make it more logistically complicated to continue to poison the US population with their drugs.

One of the reasons the war on drugs hasn’t worked, and there are many by the way, is arresting these boat drivers on the high seas is like arresting a pawn in the big picture. The sentences in the US are light and some of these scumbags actually look at being in prison, meaning three meals a day, healthcare and a structured schedule as not such a bad deal. Strange but true. So there has been absolutely no deterrent for criminals to stop the drug flow into the United States. None!

Until now…. Thank you Donald Trump. These drug runners are much more likely to find a new employer now

Yes, the United States should look at the demand problem that we clearly create by destruction of the family unit, bad parents, no morals, spoiled weak minded youth, and the horrible entitlement mentality that has festered now for over 50 years in the United States. If we cleaned up that problem mostly created by obnoxious liberal mindset, the entire drug trade would crash and burn.

Those are TV viewership. As Ganny pointed out, cable is a dying platform. We’ve been watching most things via YouTube. And the latest new ratings (post suspension) are still higher than what he had been averaging. Plus, the drop is measuring the one night versus average nights.

The sheer Orwellian-type silencing of dissenting opinions, along with nary a note of concern from the left when it was happening, is the thing that was startling. Kimmel got taken off the air for a few nights and then came right back on, with several on the right agreeing with the left that this was a misuse of governmental power. That didn't happen through the Biden administration, the left as a whole cheered when voices were silenced. We live in stupid times indeed. :ohno:

Late night comedy hosts: Left wing woke donks who live in NYC or LA, and probably don‘t associate with, and may even know any Trump voting conks.

Their guests: From Left wing to moderate, but never any right wing conk.

Their writers: Probably all left wing woke donks who live in NYC or LA. Probably don‘t associate with, and may even know any Trump voting conks. Maybe some moderates, but do you think any voted for Trump?

Their NYC & LA audiences: Almost all left wing donks. One example of that-Even as late as Spring 2022, when you had packed maskless outdoor and indoor stadiums, their audiences were wearing masks not only inside but spaced out outside in line as well.

The late night shows are one giant left wing echo chamber. Their audiences have been conditioned to only having the left wing point of view. Contrast that with Maher. Sure he‘s a lib. Most of his guest are libs to moderates, same as his audience. But he does occasionally have on right wingers, and he has defending having opposing viewpoints. If the Kimmel or Colbert shows had a right winger on their who couldn’t be bullied like a Scott Jennings or a Steven Miller, and had a respectful dialogue/debate like Maher has had with some right wingers, their audiences would have a meltdown.

Man is that a bunch of whining over content that’s been this way decades.

And Steven Miller? have you watched the dude speak even once? What’s funny is he’d get destroyed by all of them except maybe Fallon.

Just rest easy in the fact mainstream TV is diminished and you have DJT to silence them on your behalf. :thumb:

The sheer Orwellian-type silencing of dissenting opinions, along with nary a note of concern from the left when it was happening, is the thing that was startling. Kimmel got taken off the air for a few nights and then came right back on, with several on the right agreeing with the left that this was a misuse of governmental power. That didn't happen through the Biden administration, the left as a whole cheered when voices were silenced. We live in stupid times indeed. :ohno:

The War on Free Speech

Judge finds Trump administration unconstitutionally targeted pro-Palestinian students in searing rebuke

"The president's palpable misunderstanding that the government simply cannot seek retribution for speech he disdains poses a great threat to Americans' freedom of speech," he wrote.

Of Noem and Rubio, as well as other administration officials, Young wrote that they "acted in concert to misuse the sweeping powers of their respective offices to target noncitizen pro-Palestinians for deportation primarily on account of their First Amendment protected political speech," and did so through targeted deportation proceedings aimed at pro-Palestinian student activists across the country, which "continues unconstitutionally to chill freedom of speech to this day."
