Big Sky Predictions 10-18

Post by JALMOND »

Only four games on tap in the conference this weekend with one being a non-conference matchup. A lot of teams taking the week off from playing. After going 3-2 last weekend, I am now 51-10 for the year and looking for perfection since conference play started. This may be the best chance I have before the conference goes to a full slate from here on out. Here are this week's predictions.

UNC at SAC---The Bears are coming off a strong road win last week at a tough place to play and have been throwing scares in every game so far. The Hornets last week looked like they righted the ship after a terrible performance to open conference play. This could get interesting, somewhat...SAC 41, UNC 24.

WSU at PSU---The Wildcats have struggled all season but maybe not as much as the Vikings. The Wildcats were trounced at home last week after coming off a bye week. The Vikings are young and coming off a bye week themselves. Will that, along with being at home be enough?...PSU 27, WSU 24.

Sacred Heart (FCS Independent) at UM---A rare midseason nonconference game for the Grizzlies as they take a break from conference play to entertain a guest from the east. Slow starts may start to creep up on the Grizzlies so they should try to reverse that. This should be a game like that...UM 31, Sacred Heart 10.

UI at EWU---The Vandals and Eagles play their rivalry game this weekend with the Vandals trying to recover from getting smacked around at home last week and the Eagles coming off a bye week. The Eagles have not had a great season, but this is at home and they are coming off a bye week...EWU 27, UI 25.

Sacred Heart vs UM: UM should be an easy one for the Griz, can they get over their slow starts?
WSU vs PSU: WSU both are not very good this year, but think Weber is better and good enough to beat PSU on the road.
Idaho vs EWU: EWU Going with the home team
UNC vs SAC: SAC Good wins for both programs last week, just going with the home team. May be the best BSC game this week.

51-8 overall

Idaho 37-27 EWU — Idaho looks very overrated after giving up 49 to NoCo, but still… Eastern isn't very good

Weblol 28-24 Portland St. — This looks like PSU's best remaining chance to avoid going winless :?

NoCo 23-31 Sac StateAs far as postseason hopes are concerned, you can pretty much stick a fork in the loser

Sacre Bleu Heart 24-45 MontanaThe Pioneers are somehow 5-2 despite allowing 5.8 yards-per-carry this season

My guess is their competition. Scheduling must be brutal for an independent.

Yep 4 - 0! However, I did find myself rooting for Northern Colorado. I just don't understand the play call on that last play. SAC was gassed and I think they would have punched it in and won.
