I had never heard the term "yankee" used to insult somebody until an idiot transfer from Auburn showed up at our fraternity while I was in school. Needless to say, he didn't fit in to well.

In my 45 years of living in America and traveling the entire country - I've come to dislike only the North East (as a place to live) and even it has some redeeming features... It's not so much a dislike of the North East as it is just a recognition that it's a tough place to live...

Actually, the NE is quite nice. Connecticut, Maine, Rhode Island, Upstate New York. And, what sort of world would it be without Manhattan? Not saying it's a place I'd want to call home for an extended period, but I do love to hang there for shorter peiods of time.

For the most part people who hang the flag are proud to be southern and do not have racial connotations with the flag. However, the flag can still be recognized as a symbol of racism and slavery that existed under that flag, so I can see people have a problem with it. But we should be free to express our own views so who cares if its flown.
