Semifinals: Breakdown

Post by Mvemjsunpx »

Playoffs

ILST 30-14 NOVA
UMT 23-48 MTST

  • Best Performance: (#2) Montana St. 48, (#3) Montana 23 - The Bobcats won rushing 240-96 and QB Justin Lamson threw for 209 yards and 2 TDs on just 19 attempts in MSU's 5th. straight win over the Griz in Bozeman.

Worst Performance: (#12) Villanova 14, Illinois St. 30 - Pat McQuaide completed less than 50% of his passes for less than 200 yards for the 2nd. straight game as the anemic Wildcats couldn't even get in the endzone until garbage time.

Most Surprising Result: Illinois St. 30, (#12) Villanova 14 - The result by itself wasn't too surprising, but the Redbirds did become the first I-AA/FCS team to ever win 4 road playoff games in the same season.

The Villanova quarterback is almost a perfect FCS quarterback, not good enough to get poached but good enough for the CAA

The 2014 Redbirds were also road warriors beating 3 seed EWU and 1 seed UNH on their way to Frisco. That was one hell of an offense.

Brock Spack can coach.

Yep

I could add a long list of FCS conferences on that list and it would still be a good call

Illinois St WR Daniel Sobkowicz showed that he is big play threat in this game vs Villanova that 93 yd bomb and I thought he was going to have more numbers than 150 yds.I'm telling everyone who is a DRAFTNIK that he is a NFL PROSPECT on YouTube.I hope they get Sobkowicz involved from the jump vs Montana St so he can get a chance to make history by breaking the FCS CHAMPIONSHIP RECORD OF RANDY MOSS for Receiving Yds (220) vs Montana in '96!!!!!! If he does that he will definitely get the attention of the NFL.
