I don't think anyone knew any of their political leanings until then, and that was several days after they won the gold. Politics happened to them the moment Patel came into the locker room and the moment Trump called the locker room. All through the Olympics I don't recall the hockey players stepping into anything that was political. I could be wrong of course, I was focused more on the curling. That rocked!
