It would be considered return of stolen goods

After 2 thugs named Hugo and Nicholas, the people of Venezuela were no longer benefiting from Venezuelas natural resources…
So it’s all about us being world police again?

It’s about holding global thugs accountable

Why did the UN ignore Maduros crimes against not only the U.S., but whomever else he killed with his profitable drug trade

They didn’t do a damn thing

When were these "goods" stolen?
When the socialist took over

Venezuela was the richest country in Latin America and were
relegated to the poor house….. millions were lucky to get out

It’s kind of rhetorical because if the UN was gonna do anything, they would’ve asked the United States to do it

So trump and the US companies are upset and want their own form of reparations for damage that was done in the past.

Just another example of how MAQA and the woke left are similar. Now come the but, but, buts for why this situation is different. :D

The damage was done in the socialist regime of Hugo Chavez. A fool who spent oil profits on useless social programs. He relied too much on oil as his country went to shit. He seized US oil company assets in Venezuela and two companies left leaving only one.

Trump has been consistent on other countries treating the US very badly….. not happening

Chavez brought the Chinese in and who knows what they were doing, but they didn’t really help anything as far as the
People of Venezuela were concerned, it only got worse

You might not like to admit it, but Venezuela needs US expertise to restore the oil industry and get it humming again…. A large majority of the profits should be directed into Venezuela to get the economy back on track.

You're a gullible fool if you don't think that trump and the oil companies are going to extract YUGE amounts of wealth from Venezuela if they're given the opportunity.

The Venezuelan people will likely end up like an orphan in Dickens' Oliver Twist - "please sir, I want some more". They will likely be trading one oppressor (chavez/maduro) for another (trump/Big Oil).

Greenland's leader rejects Trump's latest annexation talk in the wake of Venezuela raid: 'Enough is enough'

Image
The prime minister of Greenland emphatically rejected any notion that the massive Arctic island might become part of the United States after President Trump’s announcement that he had appointed a special envoy to the territory.

“Enough is enough,” Jens-Frederik Nielsen wrote in a Facebook post on Sunday. “No more pressure. No more hints. No more fantasies about annexation.”

Why should little Denmark control a giant chunk of land bigger than Alaska, mostly uninhabited, that is a lot closer to the US than Denmark, and that the Danes couldn’t defend from China and Russia without the US providing virtually all the defense? It’s vital to the nat security of the US and only the US can provide that security. The US should naturally control it before the Danes.

Greenland is even closer to Canada and even more vital to Canadian national security. Canada should naturally control Greenland before the US.

Or we could actually follow international law, respect our alllies and honor our treaty obligations like fvcking adults rather than spoiled toddlers playing wannabe dictator.

Good. You know how much $$$ that would save? US overseas bases are a GINORMOUS expense to the US taxpayers. The US could tell those freeloading fuckers in Europe, after 80 years of US taxpayers subsidizing their massive welfare states and single payer by paying for their defense, good luck paying for your own defense. We would probably have no ginormous national debt if it wasn’t for 80 years of Subsidizing NATO’s defense.

Europe is vital for defense, deterrence, and global influence. The cost may be high but so is the payoff.

Greenland has niche strategic and resource value. It's lower cost compared but less critical for day-to-day defense.

But trump tells you to think differently so you think differently.

MAQA yahoos haven't just put their spines and gonads on a shelf, they've put their brains there as well. When he tells them to drink the poisoned kool-aid, will they?

Not to mention the MIC will exact its pound of flesh regardless. But that parts ok, right?

Meanwhile, Trump wants to increase defense spending to $1.5 trillion. It’s almost as if we didn’t mind spending all that money on protecting Europe. It was a win-win, right?

US factory headcount falling despite Trump’s promised manufacturing boom
US manufacturing jobs in December continued an eight-month skid that began last spring after US President Donald Trump rolled out aggressive import taxes that he pledged would lead to a resurgence of blue-collar jobs by reshuffling world trade to favour US workers.
...
But the blue-collar jobs boom has not materialised, adding to the soured sentiment about Trump’s economic policies among households concerned about still-rising prices and uncertainty about the labour market.
...
The unemployment rate has increased only modestly because the number of people looking for jobs has remained flat under Trump, with tougher immigration and deportation rules and enforcement curbing what had been steady labour force growth under Biden’s looser immigration policies.
...
Hiring in manufacturing, meanwhile, has been in the doldrums. The sector lost another 8,000 jobs in December, the Bureau of Labor Statistics estimated, and factory employment has dropped more than 70,000 since April to 12.7 million as of last month, the lowest reading since March of 2022. Construction jobs by contrast, while dropping in December, have continued the slow but steady growth seen throughout the post-pandemic era, goaded along recently by a boom in data-centre investment.

The much smaller mining and logging industry has also been losing jobs, down to 608,000 as at December, versus 626,000 in April.

Anyone who thinks manufacturing employment will ever "boom" again in America, even with ever increasing manufacturing activity (which we have been experiencing for decades now) just don't have a clue. Automation has been the trend for at least the past quarter of a century and will certainly continue going forward. We keep making more things in America every year (i.e. manufacturing booms) but we're going to do so without the accompanying increase in workers. If we make stuff here in the US. we'll put the work in to design it so that it requires the minimal amount of workers. None of this is news and none of this should be a shock to anyone paying even the slightest attention.
